The summer lull in Europe is pretty short, and every even year it is filled by a big international tournament. Seems like MLS took a big step forward this year in the quality and reach of its European broadcasts, but I don't know how it's ever more than a niche product there.
Ehh. To an extent. The Euro season is usually Mid August to Mid May. That leaves 3 months. During the gap, there are Euro/Olympics/Continental Tournament/World Cup tournament/Confed Cup/Qualification which go until Mid July. So MLS is really one of the few leagues in session for that mid July to mid August time frame, though preseason is usually in full force. I agree and think MLS tv revenue will grow, but more because of product than lack of soccer. Though lack of soccer will help and the product is not going to be so much better.
That's a matter of beefing up the quality of MLS, which is a different matter from being a TV product for bored Europeans who have nothing else to watch in the summer.
WHATEVER! Y'all get my point on the overseas market being a potential big money maker for the league. I'll take it and move on, even if my reasoning is off a bit LOL
Let's all act like the Leg #2s just happened today and the last week never happened. Focus on US vs. T&T and the Finals legs upcoming: Portland hosting FCD and Columbus hosting the Shield winning NYRB. We could get two Hunt teams in the Finals. One formerly, of course.
Mr. Warmth's favorite NFL team continues to troll America so hard. Following the moment of silence for Paris, they had a marine with an interesting mustache singing the US national anthem with his son standing alongside representing 2 of 4 generations of men from Virginia who have served and just happened to be part of some tribe.
My neighbor received the Washington "RacialSlurs" facts mailing from the team. A lot of selective information in that piece.
I have work travel tomorrow so I have some office work to do before packing up the office truck, all of that is after some undersink plumbing as a tribute to my wife
Hardly anything notable ... or drought busting. El Nino hasn't delivered anything much just yet. Also, after all these drought years, any and all precipitation is welcome.
Out of some sort of habit, I actually called them "Mr. Warmth's favorite team" once at work last week. O New Orleans... ******** Brazil.
Heck of a year for Dave Romney. Undrafted, signs for Los Dos, does well and signs for the first team, now playing for the U-23's. Good timing for me to jinx him.
