    Hard to believe, but this will be the first time ever for Guatemala playing in Chicago, Arizona, or Charlotte.

    Guatemala and Trinidad & Tobago have not played each other since 10.11.2008 (2010 WCQ, 0-0). This is the longest span for these 2 teams without a meeting since 1973-1988.

    Guatemala all-time record vs TRI: 8-6-6
    Since 2000: 2-3-3
    In Gold Cup (including NORCECA): 3-1-1 (last win was in 1991)
    Last win overall was the 5-1 at home during 2006 WCQ (0-3-1 since).

    Looking at the call-up, I like the addition of Edgar Chinchilla and Arias, but I am not sure they will see much playing time. My guess is that Sopegno will start 3 at the back like he did against Bermuda. Something like:

    ----------Jerez;
    ---Lalín, Enoc, D.López;
    ---Aparicio, B.de León,
    Mejía, Contreras, Cincotta,
    ---------Pappa;
    ----------Ruiz

    Good speed in the midfield, shaky backline though. Guhhhhh...i'm going to be a nervous mess once they hit our attacking 3rd of the field.

    :cautious::( Apparently cincotta might be injured but if he recovers the lineup will be (according to guatefutbol)
    Jerez
    Lalin. Enoc. MO
    Kendell aparicio Marquez cincotta
    Pappa. Moyo
    Fish
    I like it but we might suffer due to height against t & t ......but I feel like kendell and cincotta can make the runs so Moyo and Pappa can provide the balls.......the only I would change is marquez for de leon to offer more cover in the middle but if this turns out to be lineup then I cant complain because this tells me that sopegno quiere buen manejo de balon y "atacar atacar y atacar"......edit lared is reporting the same line up but with castrillo (plz no) instead of lalin and cuilapa instead of kendell (menos velocidad pero Mas conduccion)

    I may be in the minority here but i really like Dennis Lopez. He played real well vs the US or so I thought. He is lanky and would probably do well vs trinidad and mexico.

    Why not lineup the following. More defense and contencion and let the Trident work its magic.

    Jerez
    Lalin Enoc Lopez Hernandez
    Marquez Aparicio Cincotta
    Contreras (messi) Pappa (dimaria)
    Fish (aguero)

    This argentina type front frees them from having to head back on defense...since we know they dont.

    Well how about we play like chile since we dont have a reliable striker and go all out with

    I think enoc can learn how to do a prostate exam like jara.....also
    Replace marquez for Galindo and ordoñez for Arreola or ceballos for the eliminatorias

    I agree with Lopez. I was at the game in Nashville, and in an otherwise horrid defensive showing, he was a bright star. he repeatedly got to balls first and won balls in the air, which we certainly do not see very much of. Would love to see him out there tonight

    This works but i dont know enough about Arreola or Cuilapa. Are they really better than Fish? Fish is old but i dont see anyone else filling his shoes. He gets shots off and does stuff without the ball that people dont realize creates space and opportunities

    Well cuilapa is always consistent and can score...no se aHueva. ..encara sempre ....and Arreola always flatters to deceive but he has good movement and work rate Which I think can benefit contreras ....he's not a finisher he is a provider..he shouldn't be finishing because he's always sucked at that...kenton knew that that's why he would put 2 contenciones behind him and give him a free role.....and the movement from villa pappa Avila and areola made that u 23 a really competitive team

    I really like him too since he has the physical tools and right mind set.....unfortunately for him a linea de tres and the style of play sopegno wants every Center back has to be comfortable with the ball porque son la primer Linea de salida.....but I do think against teams like mexico that we'll be on the back foot most of the match hell definitely play...on the a side note I like the wingers we'll play tonight...rapidos y abilidosos. .....this will be the first time we play two offensive wingers since the copa uncaf. ..cuz sopegno usually plays one defensive and one with freedom. ...hopefully they don't get caught up the pitch

    Vamos a necesitar mucha rapidez, T&T's mid and forwards have good speed and we'll need to keep up best we can.

    True but for some reason ivan only sees him as a libero and Enoc is that starter. .....talking about enoc he's got speed , ball distribution and leadership and I really like him but as a libero es demasiado alocado. .....hes suppose to be the last man but you often see him try to intercep the ball in front of the stoppers leaving a huge gap behind. ....hopefully sopegno has talked to him about it
