SVHorn is interested in... Gonda. On loan obviously http://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2015/12/27/kiji/K20151227011755680.html @naopon do you have any idea what's the latest on him? I feel something serious was going on behind the scenes =/ also, http://honda-estilo.com/svhorn_tryout.html the tryouts have restarted. We're currently at the second phase, 16 people are in. Whoever makes it will fly to Austria in early january for the final test. Honda was there btw
It sounds far-fetched, but one possibility is that Gonda is loaned to SV Horn during the J-League offseason as a rehab program for his overtraining syndrome. I suppose it would be akin to playing in reserve matches or an MLB player playing in minor league games before returning from injury. A strange idea, but not totally inconceivable.
My only concern was if overtraining was all really that there was. From what I remember, Gonda hasn't been on the bench one single time since August...
Overtraining can turn chronic and keep players out for a pretty long time, apparently. It happened with both Morisaki brothers and Okubo as well. Depression-like symptoms are apparently common, but obviously the club would keep that part private.
Official. Gonda becomes the 2nd GK in Europe now. Loan contract until December 2016 http://www.svhorn.at/de/verein/news/sv-horn-verpflichtet-shuichi-gonda
Where is Horn playing? Damn what a downfall in Gondas career I thought. But then I read about his depression. Wish him well.
I don't think it's a downfall, in terms of category, it's obvious, he said that he wanted to play in Europe and we know that it's almost impossible to find a decent team so, I guess he spoke with Honda as it was a good opportunity for both parts. Horn is playing in the 3rd div. in Austria which obviously it's pretty much like playing in J3, but he's in a trusted environment in a club owned by japanese aiming high (1st div)... (plus, it's just a loan). Hope that they can reach promotion this year, which won't be easy at all with just one single spot.
Gonda In an interview, he actually said that he wants reward FC Tokyo with a transfer fee at the end. aand, 3 more players! - Mizuki Arai - a product of Urawa's youth. 18yr - "Emil Damyi" - unsure what オーストラリア・ギニア is supposed to mean in this case. Comes from a club in lower divisions of Thailand. - Kenta Kawanaka - 18yr. hatsushiba hashimoto high school. He was the #10 there. https://twitter.com/kenta19971105 http://www.soccer-king.jp/news/world/world_other/20160108/388834.html @naopon sorry, I can't really grasp if these 3 players are signed or are having a trial at the club. Because they seem to have passed the previous trials, but that's a different thing... http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20160110-00000032-dal-socc according to this one, maybe not.
this is so cool to see, it's like a Japanese version of Fifa in real life! Getting in all the young unknown Japanese talent. But just how many Japanese players are they allowed to have?
The 3 of them are flying to Austria for their final round of trials. Gonda is on a 1 year loan and says he considered retiring from football but is now excited to restart his career in Europe.
Haven't quite seen through Honda's masterplan with Horn, but its surely quite an interesting experiment from my point of view. Horn is pretty much in the Austrian pampa and he shouldn't expect more than a thousand spectators, but hey, whatever rocks your boat!
yeah, the limited potential attendance increase was one of the things that left me perplexed as well. We'll see
Here Honda talks about Horn and his really broad project. He knows that Horn can't become a big club but rather a 'bridge builder' for players who could promote themselves there and take another step.
Gonda played 90 minutes in a friendly and sounds stoked: 約半年ぶりに90分試合に出ました!この疲労感懐かしいな〜細かいミスはあったけど失点0だったし、何よりも楽しかった!!シーズン再開に向けてしっかり練習しながらゲームを重ね、心身共にコンディションあげていきたいと思います!— Shuichi Gonda (@gonchan20) January 20, 2016

Guess Mizuki Arai is finally signed too : 先ほどオフィシャルサイトでリリースされたようにSVホルンに加入します。小さい頃からの夢だったプロサッカー選手になることができました。ここからが本当のスタートです。これに満足せず努力していくので応援よろしくお願いします。 pic.twitter.com/GQcTKh5heF— 新井 瑞希/Mizuki Arai (@Mizuki33Reds) January 30, 2016
