I don't know about that. between Brighton, Hull, and 'boro, there you have three teams that strike me as likely to finish above Wednesday. I can easily see the Owls in the playoffs - in fact, I think it's highly likely. but I think the top 2 is a big ask; and, of course, winning it would be even tougher. they'd have to be utterly dominant over the next six months - not just good. plenty of time, though. stranger things have happened.
ok. you win. Wednesday will win the League. honestly, there is some stunningly good football going on there, eh? It's hard to believe it's Wednesday. if they bring in a clinical finisher in January, they'll be very difficult to deal with. didn't look like a big crowd, there, though. any idea how many turned up? after the performance v arsenal, and the way they're playing, there won't be many excuses if they don't start drawing 25k-and-up crowds before long.
my fellow wednesdayites, things are looking up. the teams i support, for so long, have been ... well, not winners. things are changing though. in the last few years, my chicago blackhawks won the stanley cup (NHL) after being worthless for many, many years. they've since won it 3 times (in 2010, '13, and '15). my local club, sporting kansas city, won mls cup in 2013 (first time since 2000) and the US open cup twice, in '13 and again just last month. and tonight, the kansas city royals (baseball) won their first world series championship since 1985. i'm absolutely still busting about that right now, obviously. the only other teams teams of mine that are left have also been in droughts: the kansas city chiefs (NFL) and sheffield wednesday. it's gonna happen. it has to, because all my teams are coming good now. i want my chiefs to win the super bowl and i want to see wednesday playing in the top flight. i think i remember seeing the attendance was around 22k.
hats off to the royals. they very nearly beat my beloved San Francisco Giants last year. your Chiefs and my RAIDERS are playing very well right now. Yeah, @pookspur , i'm gonna stay very optimistic.
raiders? oh ivan... i had such high respect for you and then you go and ruin it by saying something like that.
new book by Jose Semedo! http://wintheday.alburybooks.com/home/wintheday also, my son Jackson gave this to me for my birthday the other day: and my oldest son photobombed me....
