No more preseason friendlies to be played and less than 7 days to week 1 it's time for a new season thread. My predicted lineup: Tata Roncaglia - Gonzalo - Astori Gilberto - Valero - Suarez - Badelj - Alonso Rossi Kalinic With the opener being Milan I think Sousa will play a more defensive 3-5-1-1 and work in the likes of Joaquin and Berna in the second half
I think it could be 4-2-3-1. My prediction would be... Tata Tomovic-----Gonzalo-----Astori-----Pasqual Suarez-----Valero Joaquin-----Rossi-----Bernardeschi Babacar It's just Milan, though, so really any 11 should do just fine.
I'd go careful with Rossi, though I'd love to see him tear Milan a new one. Think Ilicic should start
Admittedly I like your line up better. 4-2-3-1 should give us more diversity, seems like it'll be a popular formation this season based on our pre-season match ups
I actually prefer yours as I like Badelj so much but they're saying it'll likely be a 4-2-3-1 against Milan and something a bit beefier against serious opposition. I guess Badelj could play alongside Suarez in mine with Valero in the hole.
True. But I don't see why we shouldn't take Milan seriously. Not only have they improved their squad but it's the opener and we play at home. We should play a strong side, and a win will help Sousa
Tata Gonzalo Gilberto Joaquin Valero Ilicic Pasqual Rossi Kalinic Babacar Bernardeschi Let's give Milan's defence a bottom pounding!
In all seriousness I'd go: Tata Gilberto Roncaglia Gonzalo Alonso Suarez Badelj Joaquin Valero Bernardeschi Kalinic
Same here. He was solid against our opponents during pre-season. Not up to par with Gonzalo but closer than Roncag. I've been working 17 days straight and the only thing that's been getting me through this past week is knowing I have Sunday off for the game!
I'm on nightshift this week, got cricket saturday, then i'm playing sunday league football on sunday morning! Got to fit Man Utd-Newcastle and Fio-Milan in somewhere
At least the game is in the evening for you, gives you time to get things done. I'll be watching it at 2:45 here on the east coast.

A man up and leading 1-0 at half. We look pretty good but we've missed some real opportunities. Tough to get too excited against a side like this, though, but there is room for cautious optimism.
I hope you guys have been watching. What a half. At times we were just bullying Milan around. I didn't know Alonso had freekicks like that in him. Kalinic had a great 1v1, but the shot was pretty lousy. The celebrations after Alonso's goal showed the unity our team has, smiles all around, giant group hug, Sousa applauding and smiling. How can you hate that boyish smile from Alonso edit: I see the potential in Milan's side, they just need to find themselves as a team. I don't think they'll be any easier come January.
We went all Harlem Globetrotters/Washington Generals on them in the second half and mostly played keep away while pantsing them and such.
Haha. It was pretty hilarious to watch that. My friends a milan fan but hasnt watched them in years and was getting all exited when after all the players they bought lol. He thought they were going to easily beat fiorentina but I tried to tell him they are much better than milan lol. He didn't listen. So when He actually watched the game his hopes were crushed lol. He thought Ely was the next thiago silva up until he got his second yellow lol.
