Surely, you would and it could very well be that tight in the end and we'd be rightfully screwed given how profligate we've been in front of goal this season. But, as it's been mentioned earlier, what would it say for City or Arsenal to beat us on goal difference after the season we've had? In the end, we're still very much the outsiders in this deal. That hasn't changed at all.
Done. Stating the obvious here, but we have to win all 4 of our remaining fixtures. Also I think there's more chance of Arsenal slipping up than City.
A look at the race for the top 4. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...icester-arsenal-and-man-city-run-ins-analysed
I hope we finish 4th and level on points with Arse but with a worse GD and Man City dropping to 5th. Then for Man City and Liverpool to win their Euro cups and kick us out of CL. Serves us right. Fcuk this 4th/3rd/2nd place crap. We're Man United, we should be winning the Prem every year. If we're not winning it then I don't really care where we come. BTW, we'd be in 3rd right now and just 3 points behind Spurs if we'd beaten them a few weeks ago. But no of course, we're utter crap.
No. We'll win our next 3 and will actually be in 3rd place by the last game after both Arse and City both lose 1 of their next Prem 2 games. Before the Bournemouth game, Woody will present LVG a contract extension on the OT pitch saying - See we're in third place. We'll then lose to Bournemouth finishing 5th and lose the FA Cup Final as well....
For you, sure it is but the way Arsenal have been playing in recent weeks, I still can't hear no fat lady just yet...
As long as Arsenal or City keep throwing United lifelines, the guys don't have a choice but to keep it going...
Thanks for the update @Father Ted This has been such a poor Premier League season i.e. in terms of overall quality of the so called 'Top Teams'. There needs to be an influx of better talent for the 'Top Teams'. Otherwise I don't see English teams doing well in the CL.
Then it has to be City losing to Arsenal and dropping points to Swansea while we win two of those last three league matches. Or Arsenal losing both their remaining two matches, but that's inconceivable. I can see us taking all 9 points, but I can't see City dropping points to Swansea.
