It's hard to get too excited about finally getting a win when it was against a 10 man Cardiff side but... it would have been a far worse result if we hadn't have scored the winner with practically the last kick of the game. I can only hope now that our confidence and form picks up.
Rising like a Phoenix! Back to back wins! We've got a tough month ahead in October (starting with Burnley Friday night which is televised btw) but it feels a lot better to be out of the relegation zone, hopefully now we can stay out of it.
Evans has left he'll probably pop up as Posh manager in a few weeks.... I dread to think what cheap cast off we're going to end up with now. http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-steve-evans-paul-raynor-2715341.aspx I wonder if Eric Black was actually brought in as his replacement?
I liked Stuart Gray at Wednesday. he accomplished a fair bit with very little, and stabilized a potentially shaky scenario, which could be just what Rotherham needs. That said, I didn't have to watch it every week. By all accounts the football was dire. There wouldn't be a lot of goal celebrations with Gray ... from you or your opponents. surprised about Evans, though ... even though I haven't been following all that closely. I don't like him, but it'll be a whole lot easier for Rotherham to do worse than to do better.
Grant Ward (on loan from Spurs) scored a stunning goal last night, it's just a shame we are still defending like mugs.
Neil Redfearn has been appointed as our new manager then. Hopefully it pays off and we stay up for many years to come because if we get relegated I can't think of a better manager to have in the lower leagues than Steve Evans.
It's some kind of Frankenstein one that I've seen about though, Sky(Sports) have the same one so I wonder if they've done it, they seem to have DIY'ed the door to the windmill but left the 'U' pointing the old way, it annoys me every time because our latest badge brought in about 10yrs ago should have the door added and the 'U' rotated 90 degrees into the middle like the rest of the letters. I don't know why the club don't just contact them about it and send them the official one. Anyway, great point for us against a team who were second in the table but now we need to start picking up wins against those around us. We look a much better outfit since Roos (young Derby goalie) was sent packing and Halford was dropped from the team, or more specifically central defence. Millers v Owls is on Sky this Friday so you should be able to pick up *ahem* streams *ahem* all over the internet.
he he he. the last time i used a ... u know what... my laptop got syphilis ... small chance it might be on beIN here...
Steve Clark has been very complimentary about us: "But credit to Rotherham. I thought they were terrific. After they got the boost of the goal they had a right go at us." "They are probably the first team that have created so many chances against us and caused us so many problems." It's just a shame that we are still so reliant on loan players and could lose half of them mid way through the season, we've had no real team stability since reaching the Championship.
Wow we're on US TV? we are massive now, we might even get a New York fan club with our stadium name and run out music.
beIN's Spanish channel is showing a La Liga game at that time. I'm surprised League Championship is being shown over a game with a Champions League club. Lyon-Toulouse will be played at 2:30 P.M. and shown delayed at 8:00 P.M.
and no sooner do Rotherham become more likable than the heretofore-thought-impossible happens ... ... Leeds become more hate-able.
they have in the past, from time to time, shown several League Champ matches in the past... always a pleasant surprise.
Hammered 3-0. Just as we were starting to get some wins under Evans the carpet was pulled from underneath the players and they now have to adapt to Redfearn's style of play. The only positive so far this season is that 4-5 teams look to be just as bad as us even though they actually have some stability.
