kicker, print edition, page 40, May 26th: The main priority [for Cologne`s activity in the transfer market] is feasibility, crazy thing are not on sporting director Jörg Schmadtke`s agenda. That`s one reason, why the transfer of Simon Zoller (22, 1.FC Kaiserslautern) is stalling. Cologne is not ready to pay 3 million euros. Hence, Cologne has changed its target and the Japanese Yuya Osako (24) of the Munich "Lions" has moved into the spotlight again. The contract negotiations with the player are at an advanced stage, he can leave for a transfer fee of less than a million euros.
@LoewenBoy you might have some insight here... http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/sports/soccer/jleague/2014/columndtl/201405270004-spnavi?page=1 Hajime Hosogai remarks that Haraguchi is similar in personality to his ex-teammate Moritz Leitner: "cocky and hot-headed on the surface, but a simple, honest individual underneath."
Leitner I would not say is a hot head. He's a good player and decent young guy. On Osako, he's as good as gone to Köln.
If he goes to another German club (most likely), I will continue to follow him. He is a very interesting player and I only wish him the best in his time in Germany. We need more passionate and strong players who play with aggression. Too often we get soft strikers who hold the ball to much. Yuya is the type that takes a touch and then BOOM! I love players who do that. Reminds me of Gerd Mueller. He'd take one touch and then fire!
I would have prefered Dortmund but for the moment it's more reasonable to go through an intermediary step.
I am inclined to wait to believe this. Bild reported a few transfers earlier this year as "done" and they were either wrong or took another 1.5 months to be made public and done. Bild guesses a lot and are wrong as often as they are right. Not saying this is not true, just that it has a 50% chance of being wrong.
Well, could be. The Abendzeitung is reporting (as recent as 50 mins ago) that he's leaving for Kolen. http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de...eln.e15c91ae-c5a8-4a54-b7d5-3301d9f9e47c.html
Still thinking that Koln-move is worse than staying in Munchen for another season. There will be some competition in Koln, since the squad is gonna be good after two years in Zweite.
Hard to tell. Could be good for him. He's hard working but the demands will be higher. And he will be playing against much better defenses...so I would set expectation low. If he gets 15-20 games and 8-10 goals I would consider that a very good season for a first year BL striker.
Well, from 1860's perspective at least they make a quick profit on the deal. Need to grab a striker from somewhere though. Interesting that Osako will join Nagasawa...he should receive some slick service.
Don't know if they make too much profit from Osako's transfers alone. I am reading part of the fee the new club will pay goes to Kashima.
that'll make blue san happy taking a look at Koln's striker, doesn't seem anything impossible. The real question is if they will buy another one.
