NVM. See the day after tomorrow. not much time to change.

I imagine KFA may not be compromising on AC participation?

But Asian cup is during their break so they don't care as much.

Is Ryu Seung Woo out of the equation for Asian Games since KFA only asked for Son's release?

    [Squad announcement D-1]

GJ: "It's disappointing but I believe in the abilities of other players."

"We worked hard in many ways to get Son Heung-min but the result is disappointing. Of course Germany is very strict with its principles. Asian Games has no obligations to allow players to participate, and they have alot of important matches so they decided to not allow him to go.

"But our team have different good players. Football is a team sport so I do not worry too much."

With the sudden change in the Son Heung-min's non-participation, the wildcards is expected to changed.
Will Lee Myung-joo make it? We will know tomorrow 10AM.

I don't agree with that. Asian cup is more important for me. Military exemption for earning gold in Asians game is not as important as winning the Asian cup.

    For me AC over ag.

But the decision by leverkusen mean son will definitely will be in the 2016 Olympic team. If the u23 can qualify

Tell this to yourself when Son is in military rather than getting ready in the prime years of his career for WC22.

It's unfortunate that us Koreans are in this situation. And we gonna have to tough it out anyway because the our country will not abolish mandatory service for all able male anytime soon. Just like you and I, if we were in homelanders, both of us had to tough it out.

If you want the KNT to do well, you should want our best players to have long, fruitful careers in high level of play. Losing the availability of kids shouldn't impact the NT as much as having mature talent for multiple tournaments. Thus the AG is critically important if meaningless in terms of football.

Killing our future for one tournament when we are thin on mature talent this year is incredibly short sighted.

I agree. I want son and all Korean athletes on all different sports to kickass and prosper. What can we do, it's the law of the land. Us Koreans gonna tough it out. Will there be a huge public outcry for son when World Cup 2022 rolls around and son is stinking up this prime yrs in the military? We're soon to find out.

The draw on 21st is very important. This time around, there will apparently be 30 teams competing in the tournament, which means there will be 2 groups with 3 teams. If we can get into that group (probably not, lol) we can play 2 matches instead of 3. Only the first and second advance to next round.

Meanwhile, in the women's games, there will be 12 teams competing.

Lee Yongjae? Garbage player. Scratched around lower tier leagues in Europe and plays for a J2 club now. Why is this clown on our Asian Games squad?

the defense worries me. lots of foreign based defenders. not a terrible roster but hardly blows me away. i would start Lee Jong-Ho over Moon Sang-Yoon.

the one positive is that most of the K-League based players are in form.
