Adding PJH would make the least sense from a positional standpoint but I bet he wants it the most out of those 4.
[Squad announcement D-6] Lee Gwang-jong + Kim Hak-beom was seen in Jeonju Castle midweek when Jeonbuk played Suwon. This weekend is the last K League Classic matches before the squad announced on Thursday or Friday (most likely the last day). Jeonbuk playing Seongnam in Tancheon and again Kim Hak-beom and AG coaches spotted. With Lee Jae-sung almost guaranteed a spot, the other two players - Lee Ju-yong & Shin Hyung-min may have been the coaches' interests. Especially interesting is Shin Hyung-min whether he'll make it or not as the Wildcard.
I see some decent names, nice team lads! I wouldn't be surprised if SK wins this tournament. Talents, experience and the home advantage will be factors!
We have the talent to win but I don't trust lee gwang jong, our manager. We'll probably go out on penalties at some point
Not at all, the youngsters abroad like Azmoun, Jahanbakhsh, Ezatollahi are unlikely to get released from their clubs. Also I don't know anything about the wildcards as far as concerned!
Incheon's boy Moon Sang-yoon for the Incheon Asian Games squad! Is his style going to overlap with Lee Jae-sung?
I think they will dovetail nicely if Moon's played on the wing and Lee at CAM, since Lee likes to make in-to-out runs from the hole while Moon makes the reverse movement.
I don't think Moon will be a starter but if he does play (whether as a sub or starter), the wings would be the most suitable choice. I think GJ sees Moon as mostly as a winger anyway, from the past experiences. IMO Shin Hyung-min is most likely to get that last wildcard, and if that happens Shin Wook Son - Seung Dae - ? Jae Sung - Hyung Min Or (formation from Kuwait friendly) Shin Wook Son - Jae Sung - Seung Dae - ? Hyung Min Depending on the situation/opposition, Son Joon-ho could start ahead of/with Lee Jae-sung. The good thing about most the players that will be in the squad, is their flexibility to play in several positions. If we want - we could put Kim Seung-dae as FW and use Kim Shin-wook as a supersub, but that might be the case for later scenarios in the tournament.
[Side note] Apparently, Yoon Jung-Hwan is looking to succeed Lee Gwang-Jong for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Once the AG is over they will be discussing the contract negotiations for the U-23 NT managerial post.
^ Turns out it's nothing more than a false alert. One of the KFA Official stated that the rumors were false and that this type of rumor will affect the U-23 NT negatively especially when they're in the process of announcing the final roster later on tonight.
lol, Lee Gwang-Jong is pissed. "I don't know where this nonsense came from, but I'm angered by it and it's absurd. In addition today is a very important day, the team is one thing and I feel humiliated by this rumor that can shake/overthrow everything."
Rumours of -> KBS reporting -> that Leverkusen sent an official response to Son Heung-min's participation in Asian Games which they refused. What Lee Yong-soo wants (from yesterday) -> at least let him join after the group stages. Two scenarios similar to last AG: 1) Son joins after group stages if Leverkusen allows, like Park Chu-young 2) Son doesnt join and someone else comes in, like Ki Sung-yong & Yoon Bitgaram
[KBS Official] Son Heung-min won't be participating in this year's Asian Games. Leverkusen have refused and unless something dramatic happens, he wont be playing. http://news.kbs.co.kr/news/NewsView.do?SEARCH_NEWS_CODE=2910782&ref=A
I think there will be a sudden change in Wildcard selection now. Lee Myung-joo will be most likely be picked now with Son Heung-min's non-participation: Shin Wook Yun Il Rok ... Myung Joo ... Seung Dae Big headaches, with the squad being announced tomorrow and the deadline being day after.
