The colombian ref has had a terrible game, but the chilean players haven't made it eaiser for him either
The first penalty was abysmal, but its mostly the Chilean player's fault. You can't cuss out a ref. That's intolerable behavior and deserves a red
That's exactly my thoughts. It shows that this is a youth tournament as they couldn't handle the emotions and just let it all out. I'm sure that it will be a well taught lesson for most of those players that were cautioned today, especially the red cards.
On another note we've scored 2 free-kick goals, hopefully we can add a better set-piece specialist to the NT in the near future
Starting XI against Portugal: Fang Jingqi, Mi Haolun, Yang Ting, Wang Tong, Xu Xin, Yang Chaosheng, Jia Tianzi, Cui Mingan, Liao Junjian, Xie Pengfei, Li Yuanyi
China is down 1-0 in the 13th minute against Portugal. Ricardo Horta chipped Fang Jingqi from a tight angle.
China scores to tie it 1-1!! Nice cross from Xie Pengfei to Li Yuanyi who puts it in right before the keeper pushes it out.
Penalty to Portugal. Li Yuanyi with a really strange handball trying to head a ball that is on the ground.
Another penalty to Portugal. Harsh call on Mi Haolun and Helder Costa scores his second to make it 3-1 for Portugal.
Shame that they keep making these defensive errors so often. Otherwise i think this team is quite solid, all it lacks is a proper striker. Yang Chaosheng gets too isolated as a lone striker and he drifts out wide or too deep too often. When this happens the wingers have to make the runs and act as the striker in the box but they rarely do, so theres never anyone in the box to cross to. They're playing good looking football out there but there's not much end product
Guo Sheng comes on for Mi Haolun. Forgot to add that Jia Tianzi was substituted off for Wang Rui in the first half.
Really bad mistake from Liao Junjian who tripped and allowed Helder Costa to speed past him to score. 4-1 Portugal.
China should've had a penalty called right there. A free kick was delivered into Portugal's box and a Portuguese player put both his arms up to shield the ball.
