    Happy Opening Day!

We have a moral duty to teach our Yankee friends how to lose gracefully. It's not going to be a great year for them either.

Our usual opening day win. Late summer is usually the problem.

Meanwhile in the 9th inning over the Whitestone...

You guys need to get cracking on the teaching your Yankee friends how to lose gracefully.

Although based on that pic, the small class size would facilitate instruction.

Can we watch them piss and moan this year and then start the instruction in 2014?

Looks like Stump Merrill is back in charge in the Bronx.

Guess we are going to have to settle with 161-1.

But honestly 2 blowouts and a 1 run loss with a commanding performance from Gee (1 run on 3 hits) makes me very, very happy.

He hit .281 with 20 dingers a few years ago for Toronto. Most of his career he was in obscurity with KC where he never came close to hitting .281.

Yeah, I had him as a backup fantasy catcher and he's OK. Good D, can pop double-digit HRs.

5 solid starts in a row. I know the competition's not great to start the year, but that's still something to be hopeful about. The bullpen OTOH.... I have to say, since pens can be put together year-to-year, it's one big failure so far of Alderson's tenure.

Have we been eliminated from the playoffs yet? Every time I think of the Mets, I'm reminded by that episode of Family Guy in which the Mets are eliminated at the opening pitch of the season. My 2 greatest sports moments were game 7 Mets-86 and game 7 Rangers-94. My worst sports moments were both of those teams since then. Ugghhh.
