Like I've been saying forever and recently in the Warriors thread, Klay is destined for the Lakers eventually. If he needs to go for GSW to get Love then it's got to be done.
Why is Thompson destined to be a Laker? Seeing Kobe is going to play for another couple of years, I just don't see where he would fit. I was almost sure Love was going to be with the Warriors next season, but I guess it just isn't going to happen.
But still, what's the point of going to a team, where you'll likely play from the bench, recieve a lower salary than you could and play for a team who won't really contend for the next few years. He's only of the few ''real'' SG in the game and can easily demand a max contract. Love for Thompson, Lee, Barnes + draft picks made so much sense. A teem with Curry, Iggy, Love and Bogut? Scary. I'm really getting my hopes up with the Clippers potentially signing a SF - Melo, Deng or someone else, but that's not likely to happen. Although Pierce does seem a realistic thing. Get the draft over already, so I can see what happens. So who do you guys think goes first in the draft?
Lebron is opting out? I think that was happening as soon as Wade opted in, he wants one last massive paycheck because hes past it now.
Kobe is all but done. And in a few years it will be Klay and Russel Westbrook in the backcourt of the Lakers. It's destined.
I don't know, I still think Kobe won't go down as easily. I can still somehow imagine a last hoorah. I think the Cavaliers should go with Embiid, despite his injury. I'm not sure Wiggins can be all that is expect from him, atleast not from the begining. I also think Randle and Gordon are steals in this draft.
Embiid is my pick as well, unless there is a long term injury concern. With that said, if it's just the foot, broken feet heal and you're drafting for the next decade, not next season.
There were some issues with his back, with reports surging that it might have been a stress fracture, which takes longer to heal. I can totally imagine this scenario happening : trading the pick for a veteran player. Now if they do that, that franchise is lost.
I don't know if this is mentio worthy, but Alvin Gentry has left the Clippers to join GSW and Tyronn Lue is pursuing a job with the Cavaliers. Among names to replace them are Frank Lawrence and my favourite former player - The White Mamba. I'm not sure what breaking up the coaching staff will mean, but I have my doubts. With Gentry gone, we probably lost the best offence in the league and I'm not quite sure what Scalabrine has to offer.
But you have Doc who is probably the best player-coach alongisde Carlisle and Pop. You'd probably need someone who can organize the defence a bit more, a Thibs if you will. Lawrence Frank could be that guy, I'm really not that sure what Scala brings, what the Clippers don't really have. Actually now that I thought about it, another assistant coach was brought into management, so there are 3 jobes available.
No doubt, but I don't worry for an offense with CP3, Griffin and Reddick + Jamal. The defence on the other hand leaves me with a bit of concern. The Clippers did show flashes of an elite defence, though flashes are not enough. And I'd definitely upgrade on that department more than on player management. Either way, I'm sure Doc knows what he's doing.
The most confusing player in the NBA right now. BTW he had his career high in assists last season. 1.5 per game.
Scalabrine was one of the coaches that Mark Jackson demoted and trashed. Supposedly it was after a heated argument between the White Mamba and Pete Myers.
