The director of the telecast is doing a terrible job. Too many ground-level close-ups, too much quick cutting among different cameras. Very hard to feel the flow of the game.
Entertaining second half, goal of the year candidate by Castillo and another nice one from Forbes. Strikers Nunez missing the PK seemed to be the turning point of the match. Good crowd of 7847 in attendance. Liked seeing the pitch invasion. NASL Live stream quality was good but post game production could've been better, should've just played the stadium audio feed for the presentations. Silvermans pregame radio show on sofloradio.com was top notch. Overall an entertaining Soccer Bowl Final, congrats to the Scorpions!
NASL @naslofficial · 12 hHace 12 horas Tonight's attendance at Toyota Field is 7847, a NASL modern-era championship game record (7211 in ATL in 2013)
I could not get my NASL live to work on my phone but I followed on twitter. Seems like a good ending.
8K vs 7847, wupdy doo! If the D3 Usl Pro final was in Dayton, Charlotte, or OC how many hundreds would they have had for their final. Sac is the exception to Lower level D3 Usl Pro and has done a great job this year. Wet cold & misty weather had a play in it but similar attendance to lower level D3 USL Pro's final of 8K, thats what you risk when your final is in November instead of September. San Antonio's crowd last night was excellent, their 3 SG were out in full force, and close to capacity with not many no shows even with the poor weather.
So San Antonio got 1,000 more people to show up than their seasonal average, don't think that is bad for the NASL. Yeah Sacremento may have gotten 8k, but they have sold out every game since moving to the 8k stadium. I am sure if this game was held in Indy it would have sold 10k. At this level of play it is all relative to what the home team typically sells. You aren't going to get a lot of people traveling for the game.

Why would we worry about a 1st year team in a lower division? Not saying Sactown did not have have a great year, and would love to face you guys on the pitch. But for a cold wet nasty night ( for San Antonio ), it was a great crowd!
So was Orlando, they had a similar number (maybe something like 11K, I forget) when they hosted their first final. Attendance dropped somewhat last year as they moved and started getting ready for MLS. But almost 8K in San Antonio is a good number, as the stadium has a capacity of 8K (maybe a little more with standing room).
What was that weather for SAC again ? 65-70 with 50% humidity and no rain, wind ? vs temps in the 40's, drizzle/fog, and 95% humidity But yes, let's hear more about that impressive less than 200 more crowd for SAC ! Let's also forget the various HS basketball/football goings on over the weekend as well (tournaments both in and out of town for basketball and playoff football)
If it wasn't already clear, let's talk about the championship game in this thread and leave discussion of attendance comparison between leagues for another place. Thank you.
i thought it was a pretty solid game actually. but to me it seemed the Strikers wilted after the missed pk. Scorps were definitely the class of the game after that.
NASL Soccer Bowl: A Look Back http://www.sbisoccer.com/2014/11/soccer-look-back.html The win capped a remarkable turnaround of the franchise that finished in dead last place in the 2013 Fall NASL season, before the club posted a 16-7-4 record to finish as the No. 2 seed in the 2014 combined season.
