I envision Nguyen, Gruber and Tan buying out the OC Blues and have them be their training ground for 2 years. Thoughts?
What is SRFC? The Sacramento Republic? And it should be pretty obvious why the Blues aren't as popular. No actual home stadium. They've jumped around the region almost annually since they were founded first up near Fullerton (though they didn't play at Titan Stadium consistently) now down near Irvine. No marketing of the team at all, out of sight out of mind. 2 different identities in the last few years (first LA Blues now OC Blues). Their owner already threatened to fold after 3 down years going into 2014. And to top it off they were second to last in the league this year. They're not successful because they're a non-entity as far as soccer in LA is concerned.
You only posted that because you know what the future will be for the smurfs. Your side will become Sacramento's bitches. So have all of your laughs and fun now. When Sac-town gets admitted into the MLS. There will be a new King in Nor Cal.
Sure there will. Enjoy building from the expansion draft... Assuming you ever get into the clubhouse. Enjoy being our minor league squad
Like I said before, enjoy your time now cause in the future you're boys will be our Bitches of Nor Cal. Gals be worried cause there is a lot of space on the track for you to perform your tricks. Truly Your's...The Nor Cal Pimps!!!
Whatever helps you sleep at night... And people say San Jose has an inferiority complex. Sac is an ankle biting Chihuahua compared to the South Bay.
I keep reading about Sac in MLS even long before they ever played their first USL game but when will that be exactly? You got NYFC & Orlando next year and LA2 & Atlanta possibly with Becks Miami in 2017 , therefore, that makes 22 teams. I'd love to see an MLS team in Sac but when will it be, in 2018, 2019 or 2020?
Sadly, if the team is folding and we all know it, the only thing left to talk about regarding CHIVAS USA is where will their players end up in 3 -4 weeks time?
NYCFC & Orlando next year. Sacramento in 2016. Atlanta Phoenix and LA Dragons in 2017. Miami last but not least...
I agree. It would definitely not improve the level of play in the league. Although in the long run it could be better, initially anyway, it may very well weaken the quality of play. If the Chivas fold this year and come back as the LA Aztecs in 2017 along with Atlanta then Becks Miami's promise of a team, I don't see how you can have all these expansion teams coming into the show all at once. Again, you have Orlando ,NYFC, LA2 , Atlanta and then Miami that sems like quite a lot in a 5 year scheme of things.
With Chivas folding that leaves a franchise open. They are still in talks with new ownership group that could take awhile leaving a dormat franchise. Even if the new group does invest in LA soccer. The chances of building a new stadium and marketing the re brand by 2017 would likely take longer. Should not have a timetable on this as it is important to have it all done right this time. SAC could not be ready next year but a lot likley could be by 2016 or 2017. Should they get the dormat franchise and have the new LA group be an expansion franchise when they are ready to go. So far all of the for sure expansion clubs will be on the east coast. Meaning that the current east already with one more team and now two with Chivas out for at least awhile. adding another club that will need to move from east to west.
Kind of a tough battle to have a successful minor league club within the LA Metro region. Especially without a real home stadium. Titan Stadium without gridiron football is a really good soccer stadium with natural pitch. with 10K capacity a bit big. As has been mentioned the club has not been run very well with constant changes. Now would the new LA ownership group buy into the OC Blues franchise to be their USLPro club. While they are getting the new LA rebranded team in order could begin to feature the Blues franchise as part of the big plan, leading into the MLS club. Getting back into Titan Stadiums SSS possibly and out of Anteater soccer/track multi purpose venue. Where they could host a pre season torunament like Orlando and Arizona with MLS clubs. Hosting international clubs who are touring North America. With the both LA W-league clubs merging. Moving to the NWSL and co promoting the mens and women's clubs at Fullerton. A NWSL club in LA is ideal and not sure the Galaxy are interested.
Um, you said "Atlanta Phoenix and LA Dragons in 2017" Not a math wiz, but that's 1, 2, 3 teams you suggest should join in 2017. Reading comprehension is key.
"Atlanta Phoenix" is going to be the name of the team. but maybe "Atlanta Fenix" would be less confusing to key reading comprehenders like yourself.
With Chivas looking to be dormat for a few years and two new clubs coming on the East coast. To even out the east and west to 10 clubs each who from the east would move to the West? I would think Houston would be one and likely Sporting KC. It seems that the MLS is looking for the second LA team to be ready by as early as 2017 to coincide with Atlanta. Without the purchase even being official yet, It still may likley take more time to get a new SSS in place in another part of LA Metro. Could this speed up the case for SAC
The playoffs (for jobs in 2015 & beyond) have already begun earlier for CUSA players. Let's see how many more wins will they get from the final 3 games, on top of the most recent 1-0 success...
