Looking at Muntari's stats from last two games, he played well. Ghana without him might be weaker.

its not fair that we had to play in Manaus but Germany and Ghana did not.

FFS I think our game was the only one with a cooling break.

They are weaker without him, but it makes no difference to us. We will still stink up the joint.

    I say 2-1 Ghana

what confidence do you speak of? The 4-0 walloping or the 1-0 we let slip away vs US? If you think that Ghana is going to lay down, you're delusional. Did you see what they were capable of vs Germany? Their chance of making it is way better than ours. A 2 goal swing vs a 5 goal swing.

Americans may be arrogant, but they back it up. I've never seen an American team lie down after going down a goal and rarely are they complacent. Can't say the same for us. I'd hate to be gloom and doom, but its near impossible....save yourself the aggravation. We don't deserve the next round if we can't put the Americans away in a need to win game. Pure and simple.

I was completely embarrassed yesterday. Although I shouldn't be, I couldn't help it. Not the fact about the Brazil flags or jerseys (which I have no respect for...you're the lowest of the low unless you have some familial connection, but even then its dubious...you've got no self dignity)...but I was completely embarrassed when I saw my people cheering and honking and celebrating a draw...AN F'N DRAW...not that I particularly care what others think of my country or compatriots, it was a sad sight to say the least. I can't even imagine the ridiculousness that will be if we win on Thursday (which I'm highly skeptical of) and the US draws, wins, or loses by a slight margin, we get knocked out...and people are celebrating like we've just made the final. Pure ignorance.

Exactly, i can't help but LOLZ at all the enthusiasm. Ghana are fighting for their lives just like us, against Germany we saw how they perform when they fight for their lives. There is no way, i repeat, NO WAY we are thrashing them.

I can't wait until Portugal announces the starting line-up and when everybody finds out that not a single change has been made after all that has transpired. Even if by some miracle chance that Bento does make changes, he is still a massive idiot for waiting this long.

agreed...level of competition pales in comparison. If it were that good, I'm sure all the Brazilian at Shakthar and CSKA and other wayward places would all be selected. Its ridiculous. Zero hunger anymore when the table, plates and bank accounts are all full. Bruma better get his ass back in gear and head back to the west because the east is a wasteland and he's wasting away...nearly a year of backward development for that fool.

you may want to change the 'actual chance' talk to a 'miniscule minute chance'. An actual chance is 50/50...there is not 50/50 in play here. There are many factors against us making it, in case you haven't noticed. Not to mention we haven't beaten a country by more than 3 in competitive play in 3 years...and our record vs African countries aint nothing to write home about either. Plus our defence is in tatters...plus Ronaldo is not in form...plus our midfield looks gassed...plus our manager is clueless...anything else you need to convince you that we don't have an 'actual' chance as you put it?

All that "this could be Portugal's year" talk disappeared pretty quick, eh? Am I the only one who noticed the 180 when things start going wrong? I can understand his petulance at time and frustration...the man is a fierce competitor...but he's underperformed...plain and simple. And...if he's hurt, then, forgive me for saying this, he should have done what Falcao did...talisman, highest scorer, leaves Colombia and they haven't missed a beat. But that would involve Bento changing his tactics and Nike pissing all over themselves when their main poster boy stays home with Irina. I had hopes that we would have gotten Pekerman when Queiroz got canned in 2010...now we have Donald Duck...fodas

I was disgusted when on a bar at College only my brother and I stood and sang the anthem while a few tables stood up however a group of "Portuguese" dudes with jerseys and the hair done up like Veloso sat and ate food. Clowns, at least stand. Kinda seems right that we don't win when this is the crap "supporting" Portugal. After the draw I took off pissed and retreated to a friends place close by to hammer him in FIFA 14 and get away from the clueless tits outside.

And the US did so too. Nontheless, Fortaleza isnt any better, even the Ghanians were done after the game.
If you guys want to troll some of the Yanks on this board you could give up some goals to Ghana and then see what happens. ;)

William rumored to not start once again.

    loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

This is what happens when you have a coach that has very brief experience coaching at club level. Pure irrationality. How oh how did the FPF believe he had the credentials to coach this team?

Bento's trying to troll the Amis. There's no other possible explanation.

Bento cancelled training yesterday. May not be a bad idea, but you should at least meet for several hours and review the Ghana games and upcoming tacticts. Bento also said that Postiga and AAlmeida are not seriously injured.

This means we are about to get the Bent-o (Bent-over) tacticts. He will start Postiga and AA, which means Carvalho goes back to the bench. After 20 minutes he'll sub both Postiga and AA out. Meaning we will have 1 sub left for the remaining 70 minutes in jungle-like weather.

I'm not sure how I would feel if Queiroz went to the second round and we don't.

I was hoping we'd get one win and at least salvage a little bit of pride.

He wants to justify his selection so is rolling a double-or-nothing even if it's less likely for us to win.

Anyway, here's the matrix of possible results.

Where have these rumours surfaced about William not starting? or have they come to light due to Almeida and Postiga not having serious injuries?

I don't have anything concrete on William, just what someone else posted. But if Bento is true to form, then he will go back to his original selections.

The way I see it, Bento is in a panic and can't think straight with all the pressure. He'll ask Postiga and Almeida if they are ready to go. As professionals, and I don't doubt their heart and intent, they will say yes. Bento will wipe his brow and throw them in.

It will take serious "bolas" to make the changes he needs to make. I have no idea if he's got them, but I'm sure there are many hookers in Macau who can tell us...

leave Postiga on the bench, (assuming he's still fit) fcukface Bento should go Nani, Ronnie, Valera as a front three. WC needs to start, you could see the difference he made when he came on sunday night, also, Eder should be brought into the middle of the Amazon, dropped off, then beaten, and left there until he discovers how to up his pace, improve his first touch and beat a guy who is a whole fcuking foot shorter than him in the air to the ball. Basically, resemble a guy who gets paid to play professional football
