David Luiz? What's wrong with him?

He's had some pretty good defensive performances thus far, notably in the Mexico and Chile games, where he blocked crucial shots. He's also shown an ability to make long passes (which is helpful when you don't have any midfield to speak of). He and Thiago Silva are unbeaten for 25 games as Brasil's centerback pairing.

The team may not be playing well, but David Luiz certainly isn't responsible for that.

the same ppl that want a Argentina /Brazil final remind me of the basketball fans that ask for Lakers/Celtics finals. never leaving room for other teams to have the right of being champs as well. always judging by simply using history with trophies. makes no sense. how boring can that mentality get? always asking for the same teams to win it all?

i understand the rivalries in S America. theres quiet a few more than just these 2 teams.

Last four meetings between Brazil and Colombia. (all friendlies)
    0-0 (13 Oct 2004) in Brazil
    0-0 (14 Oct 2007)
    0-0 (15 Oct 2008) in Brazil
    1-1 (14 Nov 2012)

Colombia's coach Jose Pekerman will attempt to achieve what Chile's coach Jorge Sampaoli couldn't do and what Carlos Bilardo did in 1990: An Argentinian coach eliminating Brazil at a World Cup.

Much of the World Cup is reminds me so much of what I can't stand about the SEC conference in college football. The other big conferences too but they are just not as bad as the SEC. See it all the time. The SEC has won x straight BCS titles so they will win this year too. Well sorry but that logic is illogical. A team should be a favorite based upon that team and their opponent. A game today has nothing to do with what a team has done historically. If anything it makes me root even more for Columbia.

The entire tournament has been set up for Brazil to win. Why not just hand them the cup and be done with it? No I don't believe in conspiracy theories. But neither do I believe that just because Brazil has won more Cups than any other team that they should win today. Totally irrelevant. If they win then they win because today they were the better team. Not because Bazil is the all time winningest team. Now I hope that the game is reffed evenly and fairly and we don't see Brazil getting calls because of some history. Of course, we know refs would never do something like this intentionally.

Not quite sure why Sideshow Bob gets so little love, even the BBC or ITV panels always single him out as a major liability. I like him because of his excellent buildup game.

Hopefully this game can make me temporarily forget about France's loss!

Good luck to both teams. Hope it's a great game.

Thiago Silva simply alluded (EDIT: eluded) his mark on the back post there, appeared too easy for such a high intensity match.

If you defend like that Brazil will hurt you.
Colombia better stays focused from now on.

Great start to a great match, too much pressure on a quality colombian side, but Brazil can take it to the pitch and perform, whereas Colombia...

If they dont get it down, its gonna be a slaughter.

    I say four nil.

At least it was Thiago Silva. This should shut up all the people who unfairly criticized him after the last match for being emotional. I'm not supporting Brazil, but I definitely want PSG players to do well.

Hopefully there will be more goals to come!

Brazil looks very sharp. Colombia not so much. Amateurish defending on that corner. Why wasn't there anyone on the far post?

Colombian defenders seem pretty relaxed around their box eh...

If they don't get their act together really fast this could be 4-0 for Brazil
Something I laughed about when I read it here on the forum btw.
