Draws for the 2014 CFU Caribbean Cup have been released: Bonaire making their debut. 5 Nations did not enter: Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, St-Martin & Sint Maarten All groups played during FIFA international periods. Semi finalists qualify for 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup 5th placed team (unsure whether this will be determined by final standings or a play-off between the 3rd place finishers in the Final Round) play-offs against 2014 Copa Centroamericana 5th placed team for final Gold Cup place.
Maybe I'll make a prediction contest for this tournament but I don't think many people would participate.
Wikipedia says it starts in 4 days but still doesn't have a schedule for it. FIFA says Montserrat plays US Virgin Islands on May 30. Bonaire is not a member of FIFA so FIFA doesn't help with the rest of that group. Here is the Group 2 schedule (whatever date Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, and Aruba doesn't have listed on FIFA's schedule for them is when they play French Guiana who is not a member of FIFA): May 30: Aruba-Turks and Caicos Islands and British Virgin Islands-French Guiana June June 1: Aruba-British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands-French Guiana June 3: British Virgin Islands-Turks and Caicos Islands and Aruba-French Guiana
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Caribbean_Cup_qualification now has the Preliminary Round schedule. It starts on May 30, not May 28 like the graphic at the top says.
French Guiana - BVI 6 - 0 Montserrat - US Virgin Islands 1 - 0 Aruba - Turks and Caicos Islands 1 - 0
Montserrat's goal scorer, Jaylee Hodgson, played for Dunkirk in 2012 (Wikipedia doesn't have club for him since then). Dunkirk is in the ninth level in England. Turks and Caicos Islands wasted a chance to get FIFA Ranking points. They have 0.
LOL No. Martinique and Suriname will probably blow them out if they make it to the next round. Barbados is also a tough cookie to crack.
Martinique made it to last edition of the Gold Cup and Suriname made it to the 2nd round group of World Cup Qualifiers. I feel Jamaica will win it too. Probably a finals match-up with Haiti or something.
Aruba - British Virgin Islands 7 - 0 French Guiana - Turks and Caicos Islands 6 - 0 Bonaire - US Virgin Ialands 2 - 1
There are two finals already Aruba - French Guiana and Bonaire - Montserrat... Aruba and Montserrat need to win to qualify to next phase.
British Virgin Islands never progress. But I can't wait for the second round to see what French Guiana can really do
