Valdes to Nacional on loan seems official.

Sounds like he will be replaced by a Portuguese-Canadian.

Hey hasn't the Rapid's front office been promising a DP? Sounds like one is available!

Gilberto to Philly makes sense, but maybe TFC want him out of the East.

Makes sense. But there have been rumblings they Union have someone line up from abroad (whether he would take up a DP slot remains to be seen). They were close on Andy Delort but he wanted to go back to France for personal reasons.

It's time for Caps annual screw TFC in a trade. Last year was Laba, this year is Gilberto?

question. if Gilberto gets sold to a team outside MLS, does the standard 2/3, 1/3 fee split applies? even though it's TFC that paid all of the initial fee?

Teams get all the money they spent on DPs back before the split happens.

I also presume they would only get allocation money if they made a profit, no?

    From what I understand...

That supposedly was one of the hangups when the Sounders sold Montero to Sporting. The transfer fee barely covered what they spent on him and they didn't necessarily want to be paid back the money they spent on Montero, but wanted allocation money instead.

What did Toronto get for Laba after the season? I heard it was going to be a lot of allocation.

Well, at least until we buy him outright and he starts asking for loans back to Europe.
