Just making sure you actually understood ac's post, b/c you clearly didn't before based on how your responded to completely the wrong thing. ;) And that's why grammar is important, since you can't have a discussion if you don't know what the other people are telling you!

You guys new what I was talking about...

His post was snark... really what is the difference in meaning of "would of won" or "would have won"

One is bad grammar, but they mean the same thing:rolleyes:

I certainly didn't post anything Xenophobic - not sure why you have need to make such stuff up.

Both sets of fans are equally crap to do such illegal and dangerous stuff. Both should be banned equally. Not sure how you turn that into some non-existent xenophobia! LOL ...

If there's any doubt, anything I said about America fans who did this applies equally to Montreal. I don't see any need of repeating though.

My mind still boggles that anyone can even begin to justify such horrid, dangerous, and backwards behaviour!

    You are missing the point.

You should fill 3 pages of very hateful comments about Canada and their fans and even get into some negative social and political issues about Canada. (this material does exits)

Once you do that, it would all be even.

What it means is that people with proper grammar also have to learn bad grammar to understand what you mean.

This topic has gone off-topic and the games are over so maybe it should be locked.

Why? I didn't make single hateful post about Mexicans and their fans. I don't even recall mentioning Mexico, other than in a post following up on someone making up stories about Canada is generally an unsafe place to be with a lot of rioting ("rioting" in Canada is some drunk kids breaking windows ... I'm not aware of rioters ever injuring someone here ... which makes claims of it being unsafe being laughable).

I've made hateful posts about cheats who break rules and endanger vision, with no prejudice on their location. This is neither about Mexico nor Canada. It's about two failed teams and their poor supporters.

Your the one who is showing Xenophobia here. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to turn this into something racist!

    Shame on you!

    Shame!

Settle down everyone. Time to get behind Club America for the inevitable slip-up against African or Asian opposition in December's Club World Cup. #C'CAF4CA? :D

I acknowledge CONCACAF hasn't done great in the Club World Cup, and I know you're a moderator, but I could argue that what I underlined being posted in a CONCACAF forum is trolling.

Yes, but the tournament ended like this for Jared and Club America:

In between was the sound 4:0 defeat to Barcelona in the semis. That same year America tied Barcelona 4:4 in a hyped US summer friendly. Just a few months apart this CWC semifinal nicely showed the difference between a competitive match and the usual summer circus friendlies played by the likes of Barcelona around the globe.

The 2006 CWC wasn't an embarrassment for CA but quite forgettable.

Come on now, this is the grammar in question...

"If it wasn't for the last 40 minutes of soccer in the last leg of the CCL then Montreal would of won...."
    compared to
"If it wasn't for the last 40 minutes of soccer in the last leg of the CCL then Montreal would have won...."

Again, it might be bad grammar, but they mean the same thing. Tell me again how this sentence can be interpreted in a different way???

The issue wasn't us misinterpreting your statement - it was you misinterpreting in initial response to said statement.

I misinterpreted a snarky comment that had no relevant value to this thread, and somehow I am defending myself over the use of the words "of" over "have". Way to go BS... way to go.

Not true bro, If Atlante had more believe in themselves they would have done the unthinkable in the CWC 2009 vs them. Similar to how the Argie club was minutes from beating them.

In was in Abu Dhabi for both of those matches. Estudiantes de la Plata got mighty close in a nail-biter but Atlante was outclassed full stop. Anyway, I'm not here to proclaim European invincibility. The point is that these major clubs approach competitive games completely different from the summer "fund raisers" where most of the team is substituted at half time. Those carry virtually no sporting value and anyone who thinks they do is a fool.

I for one gladly passed on Real Madrid - AC Milan in Dubai a few months ago. Looking forward to the return of the CWC in 2017 and 2018. Not to mention the Asian Cup in 2019.
