I question substitutions too. Both, Miki and Kagawa are not 100 percent. Why bring both and take Reus and Kampl out.
We're at the point where we are celebrating an injury to Grosskreutz. Goes to show how poor he's been
I want Jurgen Klopp out. My patience has run its course with this guy. I have been paid a grand total of €0 to coach but I can tell you that to beat Dortmund you need to: 1. Pack the center of the pitch when defending since they don't have any genuine wingers and their attacking midfielders like to cut in. 2. Play out wide when going forward so you yank out the FBs and if KG is playing he sucks as a FB and offers no support as a MF. It's no surprise that the run up to the goal was initiated with KG being out of position. 3. Close down the channels when without the ball since Dortmund lack cohesion to play between the defensive lines, laterally and vertically. Oh and keep them in the periphery and watch them shoot high and wide. 4. When defending set pieces against Dortmund.....just don't bother defending. There's no game plan. Rather prepare to attack. The above points applied to us 16 months ago and it still does. I don't know if Aki Watzke will swallow his pride and fire JK but if he has any self-respect he'll resign. Actually they both should and take Zorc with them. I mean FFS this is a public company why can't the board string their respective balls together and get us a new CEO and mgmt. team.
Management need to do something really quick. The bundesliga is getting more visibility and Dortmund can't afford to miss out of the money that would come with it. Sponsors and money follow successful clubs
I think board needs to do something really quick (refer to Wolfram Eilenberger's commentary). Like fire the CEO, his staff and the coaching team. We need to start afresh. And we better do this soon before playing in the first division becomes an impossibility.
I disagree. He is a club legend and doesnt deserve thee sack. No doubt Klopp has played a role in our downfall. However, he should be able to finish. Next season we can look at rebuilding, but not now. Now it is relegation battle.
Like the wolfram article: swap Klopp and Wenger. Makes sense. But that will depend heavily on how both seasons pan out.
Wherever wee end up, we will need to rebuild so that is something that must happen next season. Right now it would be another unnecessary distraction
I dont see why this would be the case. He's a very good manager. And is ideal for where we are at as a club in general. Klopp has perhaps run his course, the problem or situationn is now beyond him I seriouslly dont understand all the anti Wengerism that goes on on this site. The guy transformed the club and has been consistently in the top four of a very difficult league. I would love for BVB toto be Wengerized!!
I got home from the office.... and this was my expression when I saw our starting line-up: Then watching Klopp's game plan for this line-up:
Wenger at least knows how to beat small teams, and f*ck up for the big ones. At least he'd lead us to the top 4 in the Bundesliga.
doesn't fit the culture of the club….but he is another one that doesn't deserve the ridicule. Van Gaal hasn't been much better If a German coach then: Streich Tuchel Rangnick (never happen, he can't handle the pressure and he seems enamoured with the plastic POS club over in the east) My knowledge of the second league is dim (bound to improve next season), so I wonder whether there is anyone there that could help
If it's beyond him then it's best to cut ties and bring in someone who can. I feel the same way with him now that I have felt with Heno. Let him go where we can thrive so we can get someone who can help us thrive. It's best for all involved. I'll give you 10 reasons why Arsene Wenger isn't good enough. 1. He cannot transform Dortmund. He made Arsenal better with his resources. He brought a new style, used his connections in France and built a fantastic squad. But that was 2 decades ago and times have changed yet he hasn't. 2. Doesn't know his role. He's going to try and play the role of director that he is absolutely not suited for. Most importantly he won't have the time, even in a workload league like the BuLi. 3. He isn't tactically savvy. Buys a piss load of attacking midfielders and distributes them amongst the 5 midfield positions. Where's the balance? No wonder his squad is notorious for being fragile. 4. He isn't pragmatic at all. The first time I saw any semblance of that in recent times was against Chelsea last month. Weigh that against years of ineptitude. 5. Cannot capitalize on opportunities. The EPL isn't difficult if you have a talented squad like Arsenal's where you have the funds to build a well balanced team. Think of what we and Bayern have done to them over the years. He has missed opportunities one after another and year after year to do better than a 4th place finish. 6. Cannot perform in Europe. That run in 2006 was the best he's ever had and even then he got lucky. In a ridiculously easy group, he struggled against Ajax. Real Madrid had an off year in Europe and we all know what went down with Juventus. Since then he's just been happy making it to the knock-outs. 7. Lacks ambition. The BuLi is going to get tougher. VW recognizes the financial potential of football and they will start pumping money into VfL. They already have. Their wage budget is as big as ours....without CL football. Do you want a coach who thinks making it to 3rd is good enough? 8. His record against big clubs is terrible. Can't beat Pep Guardiola, at least not over 2 legs. His record against Jose Mourinho is embarrassing. He has a 31% win record against United. Good thing SAF retired. He has less than 50% win record against Spurs FFS. 9. Cheap as fück. Aki Watzke already does a splendid job paying our top players peanuts so scum like Bayern can trigger buyout clauses. Do we really need a manager who doesn't challenge Watzke's poor decision-making? I am fairly confident that Wolfsburg is likely going to become a serious contender for years to come. And given their wage budget Bayern won't be able to just tap and poach their players like they did with us. How are we going to compete? 10. He's old. He gave his best years to Arsenal. I don't think he's got much left to give to football. Even Arsenal fans seem to think so.

Great post. I see your points, but really the last one is the only one that bothers me. Wenger would be ideal. Consistently good, not great, but consistent. THAT is what we need
