Playing very well at Darmstadt. Osako pressures Sulu into an own goal, then slams home a header to put Köln up 2-0.
Officially the first goal has been registered as an own goal, but since we use #alternativefacts, let's give it to #Osako. #D98KOE #effzeh pic.twitter.com/cAQF1LGPZE— 1. FC Cologne (@fckoeln_en) January 28, 2017
There's absolutely no way that first Koeln's goal happened after his touch. Anyway it was a nice run up for the header.
I give him the first as well and all combined it's a hattrick . Peaking right before the qualifiers, smart man.
Started and played 78 min at HSV in DFB cup. Unfortunately he was playing deep and lost plenty balls being put under constant pressure by HSV's pressing, like in the run up to the 2nd goal against. Edit: Köln lost 0:2.
Played the whole match in the 1:2 loss in Freiburg. He's playing very deep as of late, often dropping back in MF position for build ups. While I do think he does that well (and Köln appears to lack an alternative there with Hector playing there as well) they do sorely lack attacking threat with a lone Modeste upfront (who is too often caught offside to boot).
He played as a #8 after Höger was forced off with injury and looked pretty good - crisp, positive passing and clean tackling. Not sure why e.g. Jojic wasn't considered, but the story for the Japanese players in the Bundesliga this season is that you will find a way onto the field if you have good technique, fitness and tactical intelligence. Stöger seems to believe in Osako 100%, much as Gisdol/Gotoku and Kovac/Hasebe.
Picks up an excellent assist on the break to Modeste to tie the game up against Schalke, then a beautiful pass on the counter again nearly leads to another goal. Best strike partnership in the league.
Amazing goal and assist. Been taking huge steps this season. And I was one of those who criticized him the most.
