Well, that was fast. Hertha fired Luhukay and the whole coaching staff today, Pal Dardai and Rainer Widmayer take over.
For the record, Haraguchi came on in 69th min for injured Lustenberger. Interesting change that paid off.
http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/hertha-bsc/dolmetscher-wird-zurueck-geschickt-40231234.bild.html Dardai has fired Haraguchi's interpreter, saying that from his own experience it would be better if Haraguchi learned German directly through speaking with his teammates.
Excellent 45-minute outing as Hertha down Hamburg 1-0. Great defensive work and almost impossible to dispossess when dribbling 1v1. Had a good chance but his left footed effort was hit too weakly.
yeah, I remember reading Dardai criticizing him in march, surprisingly for lacking... aggressiveness But anyway he said that he wanted to get him back on track as he considered him in poor form, so we'll see if he gets back to be involved in april\may.
Considering the time Dardai has been living in Germany, his German is somewhat poor, ironically. In his defense, Hungarian ( and Finnish ) are of a completely different language family. Finno-Ugric vs. Indo-European. The Persian languages are more closely related to German than Hungarian. Anyway, Haraguchi clearly benefited from the change at the helm. He's not an automatic starter, but close enough. The competition on the attacking wing positions is rather limited. Roy Beerens and Marcel Ndjeng ( right winger and right winger/right back, respectively ) are decent second division players, no more than backups for a first division team. Nico Schulz ( left winger/left back ) is a prospective German international, but needs to live up to his potential ( guy is a clone of Marcell Jansen, in looks and playstyle ). Next season Valentin Stocker ( best player on the team ) as attacking midfielder and Salomon Kalou as striker or left/right attacking midfielder will probably have locked down their spots. Haraguchi will have to improve on his decisions to remain where he is right now.
