Starting off with a bang with Celtics/Knicks. Knicks have only won a single playoff game in like ten years. I think Pierce and Garnett still have enough left to test them.

I think the Thunder will roll over the Rockets but the rest look really good. If Denver had Gallinari I'd say they'd easily beat Golden State as well but they don't so it's a good match up.

And JohnR, I'll ignore your condescending comment in the other thread for now.

"Not so much. But give the guy credit, there aren't many absolute nobodies who can hit for 30 two straight games. He's in a pretty small club."

I don't know how you are reading my inoffensive, complimentary, and accurate post, but however you are reading it, it's not right.

I meant (and gave) no harm.

Warriors were 1 - 3 but one loss went to OT and another loss went to double OT. Gallo was their leading scorer in the regular season series. Bogut didn't play in any of the four games.

OTOH, there is absolutely nothing going on in the East. Yeah, there are some intriguing matches if you look at them in a vacuum, but since the Heat will ultimately emerge as the Eastern champs, they're basically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

You won't watch Knicks Heat if it comes to that? I mean, who really has a chance against the Heat anyway? Might as well turn it off for two seasons.

I think Melo's improvement is an interesting development worth watching. He seems much more focused/serious about his legacy and career. Of course Boston could win this round so we'll see.

I'm half convinced that the Knicks have a better chance than OKC. The Knicks can get hot and very deadly on 3s. It's pretty unlikely they can do so 4x, but maybe. On the other hand, OKC always looks to me like a poor man's Miami. Very good athletes and wing play, run well, but Miami does it all better. I have a hard time seeing OKC as anything but a noble and consistent loser to Miami.

Yeah - I agree. There is an argument for the Knicks - Chandler and Kidd have Championship experience, Melo is playing out of his mind on offensive a la Dirk, and they have role players that can be effective. They also seem to be a decent matchup for whatever reason - that elusive "got their number" question hangs over this series if it happens. I don't see it happening simply because Lebron can single handedly beat teams now, but that series might be closer than OKC Heat.

It's a bummer that the Spurs seem to be falling apart at the worst time - I was pretty shocked they cut Jackson.

The Lakers are horrible against fast pace teams like Denver and the Clippers. Even though Parker can penetrate and give our defense hell, it still a better match up for us compared to OKC. I heard that Jackson and Pops were having some personal issues over Jackson's role, and it got heated and management decided to let him go.

I probably should have expanded the choices for the West and just kept the East at "Heat" or "Other" :D

The key to the Knicks isn't just on Melo. He's obviously going to score a lot regardless. It's the bench and the 3 pointers. The Knicks won a lot because they hit a ton of 3's.

But the Heat are obvious favorites.
