And I'm telling you NONE of the players you eventually listed would have been better choices to play in this tournament for "technical reasons" nor "developmental reasons" nor any other half baked reasons you might conjure up.
Team - Johnstone, Stones, Garbutt, Dier, Thorpe, Coady (c), Ward-Prowse, Cole, Williams, Barkley, Kane. #u20wc Kick-off v Egypt 7pm.
Good to see Cole in there. Looking at other results we need either a win or a 3-3 draw to go through.
Both teams will be attacking all out today. Should see goals. If the game ends 3 all then England would advance to the last 16, but that probably won't happen. If England win and Iraq and Chile draw 0-0 then England win the group.
Good to see Cole in there, did well when he came on. Shame there's no Pritchard though. I didn't "eventually" list them, listing them was my first involvement in the discussion. And I know what your position is, I was just asking for a reasoned counter-argument. Regardless, we just disagree on something, it's not the end of the world, and no reason for personal attacks.
Cole has looked good. Garbutt's been giving the ball away very cheaply with those poor crosses though.
Think we've done well in that half. Played some nice stuff at times but poor finishing and decision making in final third is hurting us. Nervous 45 mins to come
How have the chances for both teams gone? Chile started with reserves and somewhat lazy, we woke up after the Iraqi goal... this match could still go either way though.
We've had most of the good chances. Missed a few sitters. Egypt keeper also made an amazing save. Eygpt haven't really had a genuine clear cut chance yet, which makes it frustrating that we haven't taken ours.
That only means Egypt are going to have a clear chance this second half and will probably capitalize on theirs... such is the law of football... England better score soon.
who else heard the tactical maestro from the england bench screaming "********ing win it" to the player going for a header lol.
So bottom of the group in the Euro U21s and WC U20s. If this isn't a wake up call for English football, I don't know what is. Failure to qualify for the WC will make it a triple, which is quite likely imo.
