A few points that I kept thinking about during the match: -Why does Neven Subotic think he is Andrea Pirlo? -It's preposterous that JK wouldn't play Shinji against Juventus. He has been our ONLY creative player this season. -Speaking of creating, Gundogan feels like a really good player who doesn't do anything good. In years past it felt like he was an average player who did great stuff on the pitch. -The only time I missed Mats was when Neven made that horrendous mistake. Then I realised Mats would make that mistake too. -If not for Miki, I wouldn't miss Reus either. Frankly the latter hasn't lived up to the billing since he signed the contract. -Until Kampl starts scoring goals he's going to be another one of our lengthy transfer flops. -Sokratis is easily our best transfer since Reus.
I wouldn't call kampl a flop. I feel like he is right up there with kagawa and kuba for the other midfield spots when Reus is in. I think after this summer with the team he'll really show off what he can do. Remember this is a clear step up in competition from what he's used to and he doesn't look out of place. He fits the team mold. He may not turn in to a star for us but we didn't pay that much for him.
We paid almost twice as much for Ciro IIRC. 9 mil as opposed to 16 mil, and also, Ciro was categorically beaten by Aubameyang for a starting position, as opposed to Kampl, who's still very much in the mix. Plus, just off the eye test, I think Kampl fits a lot better than Immobile.
Kampl is a bit more creative than miki, with the same work rate (if not better) and he seems to fit the mold of the team more. I think we're going to sell miki in the summer and kampl will sort of take on the miki role.
I agree with you guys but I've also got Lewandowski's comment from the weekend about us playing long balls in my mind. JK should at least switch to something more modern and technical before giving up on Ciro. He never had the privilege of playing in front of a no. like Götze who can hold on to the ball.
Entertaining game. Dreadful mistake from Subotic which sorta of summed up the Dortmund games I have seen this season. Miki has regressed hugely. Real shame. I thought Gundo played very well.
that was one of the worst mistkaes he has made all season, actually, probably the worst. Miki really, really depresses me. I like him so much and it clearly isn't working out for him or the club. You watch, I bet he explodes at his next club. He is a top talent.
To me the worst was his collision with Roman that took Roman out of the game when the opponent was scoring. It was preceded by a mistimed tackle, followed by him getting up and blindly cutting into Roman. It wasn't just bad, it was amateurish. Please sell him asap.
