Decided to go ahead and start this anyhow as there seem to be questions about our first round opponents SV Wihelmshaven.

SV Wihelmshaven would have been relegated from the Regionalliga Nord (Regional League North - 4th Division) had it not been for VfB Lübeck and FC Oberneuland's matches being dropped from the league and having their matches wiped. Thanks to these events, SV Wihelmshaven will play 4th Division football next season.

I will not make comments on BVB as there is still lots of action in the transfer window to come. Needless to say, I think we could probably send BVB II and get past these guys. I hope our team does not have this attitude, but yes, this is what I'm thinking.

Die BVB-Aufstellung: Langerak - Großkreutz, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer - Kehl, Sahin - Aubameyang, Gündogan, Reus - Lewandowski

I would have been but read earlier in the week we were going to field a best available type team. They don't want to take any chances.

Lewandowski and Gündogan need to come into the game more, particularly the latter. So far, very wide, not enough variety and penetration through the middle. Very un-Dortmund-like so far.

Did they have a trinkpause in the middle of this half? Is that something mandatory?

0-0 so far after 60 min. Wilhelmshaven look well organized defensively. It's hard to break them down.

Marvin Ducksch replaced Kehl a few min ago so Guendogan is moving back to the pivot.

    Unbelievable miss by Auba !

Edit : Wilhelmshaven just missed a great chance too. One vs one against Langerak. Good save by Langerak.

That was a beautiful goal by Grosskreutz.

    2-0 Marvin Ducksch scored with a simple a tap-in.

What an incredible finish by Lewandowski.

Hofman with two assists after coming on. Promising.

We really made very hard work of that.

    Thoughts:
*Hofmann will be a useful squad player this year. Came on and provided two assists, and generally looked lively in his short stint. Based on our preseason, he's an effective player. Has very good awareness of teammate positioning in the box.
*Marvin Ducksch continues to look promising in his finishing. One touch, one goal. In my opinion, more useful than Schieber already!
*Aubameyang may need some time to integrate into the system, especially when we are playing teams that park the bus. He kind of runs into blind alleys a lot and loses the ball.

All of this is to be taken with a grain of salt, because the team really wasn't up for this one.

Hofmann gave him a goal on a plate and he took it clinically. Given limited time on the pitch so not much of an opportunity to infer anything about his ability. But he was put on ahead of Scheiber, so there's that :D

Aubameyang missed two great chances. Needs to improve his finishing.

This is one of his noted weaknesses. Not very consistent in front of goal.
