2013-2014 Bundesliga Match Day 9 Borussia Dortmund versus Hannover 96 Saturday, October 19, 2013 – Westfalenstadion, Dortmund – Kickoff: 3:30 PM CET Second-placed Borussia Dortmund goes into Saturday’s match after this much needed international break rest after having lost a tough match at Gladbach in the Bundesliga. Still, BVB’s injury list is long. Head Coach Jürgen Klopp will not know exactly who he will have available for Saturday’s match until sometime on Frdiay. However, Klopp already knows he will not have stalwart central defender Mats Hummels available to him on Saturday as Hummels will be serving a one-match red card suspension. Fifth-placed Hannover 96 comes into Saturday’s match six points behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga standings. Hannover played to a 1-1 draw at Hannover against Hertha BSC Berlin before the international break. Borussia Dortmund has won six of the last eight meetings between these two clubs in all competitions, including the last two meetings, which were a 5-1 German Cup victory at Dortmund on December 19, 2012 and a 3-1 Bundesliga victory at Dortmund on March 2, 2013. Which of course means Saturday’s match will be the third consecutive meeting between these two clubs at Westfalenstadion. Dortmund’s home record in 27 meetings in all competitions with Hannover 96 is 14 victories, 7 draws and 6 defeats. However, Hannover has not won at Dortmund since taking a 3-1 Bundesliga victory back on April 16, 2008. More information as it comes………
3 points and a draw for both Bayern and Bayer and no injuries after this match would set my mood a bit better before tuesdays match
A double digit thrashing, seeing Bayern demoted to the 3. Liga and Arsenal in fear forfeit the fixture at the Emirates would be my ideal Saturday.
It worked, some times it was unorthodox at best though. Sloppy defending can work against a unclinical Hannover, but against an in-form Arsenal match midweek at the Emirates? Can't expect too much can we. At some points in the match it was tense, and quality opponents will exploit that against us. Sokratis didn't impress much defensively today IMHO, but I thought Durm played fairly well.
Honestly IMHO boring match, caught a stream from the 5th minute so didn't even see the penalty. Fullbacks did well, Weidenfeller did alright. I've heard Sahin had a decent match. Front 4 were a bit disappointing though.
They've been fully focused on Arsenal it seems, imagine that all their training is working out tactics for that important game. Hannover though seemed well-prepared for Dortmund. All in all a very important win without going all in.
Grosskreutz and Bender had a good game. Reus was good too. Subotic clearly looks out of form. He will be under pressure when we face the gunners. Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan still lack the concentration and vision required for quick one touch passing. I hope Klopp takes it seriously and stop enjoying the media hype about how these two have gelled in quickly and all (because they haven't IMHO). Durm reminded me of Schmelzer on few occasions (you know what I mean), still had a decent game.
