Apparety the FAI have approached the SFA to laucjch a joint bid for Euro2012. This bid will only include one Irish stadium (Lansdowne Road) ans seven stadia from Scotland. Personally, I think Scotland can go it alone and after the fiasco that was the bid for 2008, I think a joint bid with Ireland would be worse. What are the opinions in Ireland about this?
It would be nice, indeed, but after the joke of a bid we made last time, I doubt it would happen. I almost feel we don't deserve it and that Scotland should go it alone.
i'll second that,i felt really bad for the scots the last time over the fai f **kin the whloe thing up.
I think the FAI should have gotten the message after the 2008 fiasco that this isnt going to happen any time soon. And they will probably throw in that it will be contingent on getting Croke Park which isnt going to fly with UEFA again. They should concentrate on getting a CL final for the new Landsdowne Road instead.
How will they get a CL Final with a capacity of 50,000 in the new Landsdowne? Go it alone Scotland. I'd love to go to Glasgow and see Ireland lift the trophy, then go on the p*ss with tens of thousands of Celtic fans....
Because that's all you need to get a CL final. UEFA have already said that the stadium is fit to host a major final I believe. Scotland would be daft to go in with us again for the European cup though.
why use 60500 celtic park when you can use 98000 capacity Camp Nou all the time??because uefa like to use different cities, and theres nothing whatsoever wrong with that. hampden held the CL final 2 years agoand its capacity is only 52000. scotland should tell the FAI to eff off. the FAI took uefa delegates on a tour of a dilapidated lansdowne road, croke park which cant be used for football, and the piéce de la résistance -an empty field, as part of the 2008 campaign.what a shambolic bunch of c#*ts. IMO scotland should go with parkhead, hampden, castle greyskull, murrayfield, 30000 new ground in dundee and a redeveloped pittodrie.IF they need further help then wales with millenium stadium and a new 30000+ cardiff city stadium (cardiff are owned by sam hamam-very rich and very ambitious, and their ground needs redevelopement sooner or later). already you have 5 stadia built.youd just need to redevelop 3 and you have enough stadia for the euro championships involving the FAI is a recipe for disaster
