Newsouth was being sarcastic. He's saying the same things we ask about Pia selection process for the last several years on different forums/sites/pubs/at water coolers etc.....

Press ideally isn't going to represent a country she doesn't live nor work out of. I highly doubt any US born player would represent any different nation they have no direct/strong relationship with.

Becky Hammon being an exception(I know it's basketball, the point is still valid), twice she wasn't chosen for the Olympic tryouts and she had strong working connections in Russia(playing non-WNBA ball in Russia), she represented them for the Olympics/Worlds events.

Where the olympic players play their club games:

    "the 18"- Alt
    SWE 23-5
    none 23-3
    USA 22-3
    FRA 21-4
    PRK 18-4
    GBR 16-3
    RSA 15-4
    JPN 15-3
    BRA 12-4
    GER 11-1
    CAM 9-4
    COL 9-3
    RUS 7-0
    NZL 6-4
    CAN 2-2
    ROU 2-0
    SUI 1-0
    NGA 1-0
    SRB 1-0
    POL 1-0
    AUS 1-0
    ISL 0-1

I am slighlty of somewhere, the total number of players is correct but I have one to many in the "no club" category, and that must mean I missed one for USA, CAN or SWE.

Thanks. I wonder what they would say if I was pushing for Delie, my other favorite forward, to play for Canada, so she could be right next door to score those fantastic goals on Cherry Picked Roster FC. There is a bit of a French connection there, right?

The sad truth is no one should be an alternate on the GREAT USA National Elite Team if they can't even get just 1 cap against Banana Republic Teams. And the people on this board as usual turn a blind eye for their team favorites. I'm calling it like it should be called.

You won't be missed, Pia. Some of us might become fans when you are gone.

An odd day to mention Delie scoring goals and Canada in the same breath, don't you think?

But very entertaining....what are you taking?

An entertainment pill because this is just a message board, not life and death. Thank you very much.

    Go Morgan!
