In case you missed it today, the NASL unveiled the slate of opening games for all 8 teams. The Strikers open up just like they did last year, at home vs. The Eddies on Saturday, April 7. We're still not entirely sure where "home" will be in 2012, let's hope it's Lockhart, but mark your calendar! The boys in red and gold return in just 117 days!
Not soon enough for me, but I've already got it marked in my Franklin Planner... ETA: BTW, has anyone here listened to Ultra's Radio #34? Some very interesting stuff on that from Aaron Davidson. He discusses the history of Traffic's involvement in soccer in SE Florida, how the Strikers got Tim Robbie on board, the possible growth & future of NASL, and, most importantly, whether or not he and Traffic would support MLS in South Florida by possibly moving the Strikers to MLS. Really GOOD STUFF! Well worth an hour of your time to check out. Leave here now & go do it...
Not to hijack your thread, but for anyone who doesn't already know it looks like our rivalry will be back for real starting tomorrow morning. This.Is.Awesome.News. carry on.
Indeed. Couldn't agree more. Great news for soccer in the state of Florida. It's (properly) on! Again!
Hmmmmm....4 times in the 2012 season the Strikers will actually play the TB Rowdies. It could make for some interesting times...
Open Cup too. They fiddled around with the format so it's less likely, but the two clubs could meet there as well. Miami FC beat FCTB in 2010 in the 2nd round on a penalty kick in extra time. Highlight of that season.
