My first ever Union road game. I'm really looking forward to it. Stade Saputo has become a fort, but I think we'll pull another rabbit out of the hat and win. Plus, I can sing negatively in French!

    Vous n'etes pas chanter la-bas!
    Vous n'etes pas chanter la-bas!
Vous n'etes pas chanter, vous n'etes pas chanter
    Vous n'etes pas chanter la-bas!

How do you say, "You're not French over there!"? Is it: Vous n'etes pas francais la-bas?

But we don't call ourselves "English-Americans" to distinguish ourselves from the "other" more "inferior" Americans. They, however, call themselves "French-Canadians".

Incidentally, I happen to really like Montreal and think it's a beautiful and fun city. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is there, Au Pied de Cochon: http://www.restaurantaupieddecochon.ca/. If anyone is going to the game, definitely check that place out if you have time. It's a bit away from the central financial district, but worth the trip. Make sure you make a reservation first or you won't get in.

My comments are more in good-natured fun than anything else.

That's correct. Of course, they would probably prefer "Vous n'etes pas Canadien la-bas" since they really want to secede from Canada. Quebecois make Texans look sane by comparison sometimes.

On a different topic, assuming Soumare is fit and starts, who sits? I think that the most likely scenario would be to have Soumare take Okugo's spot at CB and have Okugo play the MF role that Gomez and Lahoud have been sharing.

Can Okugo go from playing CB to playing wing-MF or modified CAM? Or, does Okugo go to the bench to replace Soumare after 45-60 minutes with Lahoud/Gomez starting? These are questions that Hack should be asked at the press conference tomorrow.

Does anyone know the status of Valdes's hand from the stoppage time knock that he took? I couldn't tell whether he was milking it or really in pain or both. I guess we'll know later today when the Injury Report comes out.

I would think Soumare would come in as a sub in his first appearance just to judge his fitness level.

They'd be foolish to break up Okugo and Valdes now, even for Soumare, who definitely will not be able to go a full 90. Truth be told, I would even like to see what could be done with a 3-5-2 that looks like this...

    MacMath
    Soumare - Valdes - Okugo
    Williams-----------Carroll-----------G. Farfan
    M. Farfan----------------Adu
    Pajoy - McInerney
Might be a little narrow, but I would be curious to see how they would fare. I like the backline because it would be quite strong. Williams and G. Farfan would basically be playing the same as they have been and pushing up to assist on the wings. I don't know what the end result would be, but I think it seems like a pretty decent lineup, especially the backline.

I hope we see more of the showing for the ball and switching fields we saw against KC and Toronto and less of the standing around we saw against NY and NE.

I like this formation. The problem that I can see is that it may morph into a 5-3-2 if Williams or Garfan don't push up enough or it could expose the wings on defense if Williams and Garfan push up too much. But, it would be interesting to see and may play to our strengths.

Would you mind if Keon rides in your trunk on the way back home?

I like... but the idea of Hoffman seems odd... I'd use him as a sub before he gets any starting consideration.

I think that Adu needs to sit out another after his sub-par performance against the Revs. Don't know who else could slot in up top ... Daniel at Fwd didn't work, Perlaza is out of favor, Martinez could start I suppose.

I liked Martinez coming off the bench on Sunday. He really looked like he wanted to prove something by being out there, even if only for 10 minutes. I don't know if I would want him starting, but I would like to see him getting more minutes.

Hopefully, they'll go with what worked the first time against Montreal, although I don't really remember what it was.

We should try this one time, just to let him get it out of his system.

I remember what happened at the game, I just don't remember the formation.

I remember the game fondly because I asked Marco Di Vaio if he had fixed the result like he did when he was at Bologna and he flipped me off.

Click on the "Rosters" or "Formations" tabs ... probably was:

Martinez (Hoppenot) - McInerney - Adu (Pajoy)
Daniel - Carroll - Lahoud (Gomez)
    G Farfan - Okugo - Valdes (c) - Williams
    MacMath

Any idea if Keon got his issues worked out with Canada? He wasn't able to go to the Toronto game if IRC. Also, for Adu/Hoffman does the odd man out not make the bench? You already have 7 on the bench and 12 possibles starting. (Probably means Keon doesn't make it).

    Sorry for picking nits.

So wait, are you saying we can't use the 3-5-3 again?
