This is getting put up a little earlier than usual due to crowded vacation schedules for your friendly neighborhood mods.
can we call this a do or die game? If we lose this one the only thing we are competing for is who will be worse, Toronto or the Union.
Don't forget Portland................ The Timbers are making TFC look like a functional organization. Yes this is a MUST win game. The Revs are not good on the road this season. Let's hope we keep it that way.
TFC won its last 3 games. That is a huge bounce back after we trounced that team a few weeks ago. TFC is now one point behind the Union in the standings. This game is a must win if we want to stay out of the cellar. The standings are tightening considerably.
Unfortunately with our early season turmoil we are going to be in a lot of 'must' win games. Getting as many W's as possible from here on out is the only hope for a shot at the playoffs. I am not overly optimistic of our chances but I still have hope that they can make it. According to the discipline summary Valdes is one game away from the good behavior incentive, though I still think we will lose him for a game sometime this year.
I believe that the Discipline Summary has not yet been updated. (I think it is updated Tuesdays and Fridays like the injury report.) I believe that the NYRB game was the final game to get the good behavior incentive and he is back to 3 yellows.
Damn interweb thingy lied to me!!!!! How dare it! Thanks for the info (looked at last updated date and it was the 19th), I will try to remember it for next time.
Could swear that Torres still hasn't shown he can go a full 90, and if you can't go 90 you don't start. If you were going to start someone who can't go 90 then Hop deserves a start over Torres but they are both best as subs right now. Pajoy is an ok forward who makes some mistakes but also makes some nice plays (see heel pass to Marfan for the winner at LAG). Surprised you didn't say something about the Farfan twins as you seem to not like either of them. As to the lineup only real change I would make is just positional. As it seems the midfield is at times a triangle with Farfan at the point and the two D-Mids playing underneath. The Midfield does rotate so it is more or less a mute point. One thing I hope to not see a whole lot of is Adu somehow underneath Carroll. There has been several instances when I saw Carroll deeper in the attack then Adu. Carroll has tremendous value to the team just not a whole lot in the attacking third. He can make decent passes but his shot is not that good.
i have lightened my stance on Farfans. Both have played well especially Garfan (though I hate admitted that) minus the NY games where everyone sucked sans Hop.
I don't know if we will win or not, but I am relieved to know our players will def be properly hydrated this Sunday...
I kissed the playoffs goodbye after last week's lost and Houston's win...but if we lose this one, I'll be pretty much making out the playoffs goodbye.
me too. might as well use the games after this one if we lose as practice to try new things and players for next season. Play some of those young ones and baptize them by fire but I guess Hackworth is trying to get a job out of this so I doubt he will do it.
Play to win as many games as possible. Establish the team's identity and rebuild the foundation Nowak smashed before his exit. I'd like to believe Hack has a strong relationship with the team and can motivate them play well enough to secure his job. Two birds. One stone.
