But it is NYC they can do everything!! I agree, Soccer is not Baseball and you do not play an weekday afternoon game. Least it hits them in their pocket for being dumb. Not sure if MLS has a ticket price sharing agreement like other American leagues due. If they do, Chicago is probably pissed.

The MetroCow organization is run by morons and deserves every ounce of scorn heaped on it.

As a parent who spends upwards of $500 a week to send my kids to soccer camps - I would be PO if they spend half the day taking the kids to watch a match. This is a really bad idea - camps are for training. I agree that watching a match can be a good learning experience but not this team.

I have Direct Kick and the match is blacked out. That makes no sense.

I think it's general "summer day camps" not necessarily Soccer Camps exclusively.

I'm not convinced that the NYRB are losing much money on this. They already have the STHs' money and they probably sold far more group tickets than usual. While the walk up and concessions probably are less than usual, I don't think they're taking that bad of a hit.

Good post...............let's hope our club's FO doesn't get any bright ideas now!

One thing to keep in mind too, is that RBNY doesn't have a huge STH base yet. At least not nearly as many as the Union have.

Beautiful goal by Henry. With Cooper on the bench and Le Toux starting today, I wonder if Le Toux will be on the bench on Saturday.

This was Nick Sack's original idea from 2003 when he was with the Metros to have a "Camp Day". I wouldn't put it past him to try it again, but supposedly MLS has said that these games will never happen again. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, I guess.

RB announcers mentioned that, also noting that Sack said he wouldnt do it again

The Union did have a camp day last week, but it wasn't for a game (obviously). I went with my daughter's camp. They had all of the Toyota Plaza games open for the kids, plus all sorts of games on the grass around PPL park. Witkowski & Hoffman came out to meet the kids and sign autographs. They also gave stadium tours, where we got to go down the entrance steps and down to the field. My daughter loved it.

Because of the USOC match that night, though, they had to cancel the tours of the locker room & media areas.

I thought it was really cool, and I hope they do it again. A match, however, would probably have been too much for some of the younger kids to sit through, so the games & such were perfect.

Good point about the STHs. I'd be royally pissed off if it was my ticket. What a dumb idea.

Can't be bothered to Google it, but what was Nick's failed "playoff fever" something-or-other back in his MetroStars days all about?

Most of their games are blacked out on Direct Kick, makes no sense at all. We aren't the New York market.

    (1) Take SEPTA to Suburban Station --> At Suburban, switch to SEPTA Trenton Line to Trenton --> At Trenton, switch to NJ Transit to Newark Penn Station --> At Newark Penn Station, switch to PATH to Harrison.

    (2) Take AMTRAK to Newark Penn Station --> Switch to PATH to Harrison.

If you're taking AMTRAK, note that not all Northeastern Corridor trains stop at Newark Penn station, so make sure you are on a train that stops there.

I'm not familiar with the Amtrak lines running out of Wilmington. But I'm driving to the Trenton or Hamilton station and taking NJ Transit rail to Penn Station NJ, then hopping on the Path commuter train to the stadium. Parking/traffic up there is way more of a headache than taking the train. RBA's location makes the train option quite easy.

Bill Gaudette played on Wednesday for the Cows. He seems to be a decent keeper. Doubt it will make much of a difference if he or Meara are in net as either could easily be the starter.

They are better off with Marquez, so Rafa's injury is probably bad for us. On the other hand, at least now he can't injure one of our players.

NM Bakary changed it. The July, Retweet, etc were in French. Should have taken a SS.
