Remember guys, no need to respect them too much, they haven't faced any real competition like the likes of the Taeguk warriors! Go Korea. I saw a lot of dirty play from Brazil, the media is over hyping them and over praising them. I predict 2-2 win via PSO for us!
Brazil IS a free-scoring team in this competition, but they've also only managed a clean sheet against New Zealand. Not saying we should get into a knife-fight with the Brazilians, but the goals can and will come. We just need to be patient and pace our game.
I agree. They are overrated and draw a lot of fouls with cheap tactics. I hope we get a more fair ref next game. this is why i predict 2-2
We faced them back in 1997 in the World Youth Cup and lost 10-3. That was then, this is now. Our boys have been solid with HMB doing a fantastic job. We can do this! 대한민국!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i don't think so. the ones from today are not this changes from time to time, but I am pretty sure that yellow cards do not reset at the QF stage. e.g. A player does not get a red in the next game however if he gets 1 yellow next game but will not be able to play in finals. remember how this happened to ballack in wc2002.
we also faced them in group stage 2007 in canada. I was there. we lost 3-2 in a game with very heavy ref favortism again. We also should have played Shin Yong Rok that game but he was only subbed in at the end and almost tied the game. Shin made an instant impact that game I remember when he came on.
Ha, just as I typed, I double checked in case the rules had changed. Indeed they were just changed in 2010. So my bad. Here is a source to explain. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jun/20/fifa-rules-world-cup-2010
I only watched the first half of Brazil's match against Honduras, but we really need KSY and PJW to boss the midfield. Most likely, Brazil will play a 4-2-1-3 with their front four not tracking back too much (at least Neymar). I'm hoping for the same line-up against GB or maybe even drop JDW back to the bench to bring in a tried and tested KBK/KJC/NTH trio.
Our senior side has only played them in friendlies, but aside that our U-20 NT has faced them in tournaments (U-20 Fifa World Cup). 1981 U-20 Fifa World Cup Australia: Group B - Korea vs Brazil 0:3 1997 U-20 Fifa World Cup Malaysia: Group B - Korea vs Brazil 3:10 2005 U-20 Fifa World Cup Netherlands: Group F - Korea vs Brazil 0:2 2007 U-20 Fifa World Cup Canada: Group D - Korea vs Brazil 2:3
I've got two problems heading into the semifinal matchup against Brazil: 1) Lack of killer instinct. Football is a game that you have to outscore your opponent to win. Despite of our well-organized plays on the defense and midfield, our piss-poor finishing is causing us headache. That's why our record is 1-0-3. That's why we are the lowest scoring semifinalist. That's why we are in the toughest bracket. But Ji Dong-won's goal was a positive. He finally seems to be in sync with his teammates quite well. His goal will boost his confidence in upcoming matches. And I deeply hope that Koo Ja-cheol will eventually score. The guy has been outstanding in every aspect of his game but scoring. 2) Fatigue. Our style of play requires tremendous work rate and hard working. And we just played 120 minutes in the quarterfinals. The fatigue level must be quire severe, especially our central midfielders Koo, Ki, and Park Jong-woo. Can they press Brazil at the midfield like they have done so far? In this regard, HMB did good job of resting Kim Bo-kyung. He must be fresh by the kickoff on Tuesday. Other than these two, I am very pleased with this club.
We beat Brazil's senior team in a friendly in 1999. It was 1-0 with Kim Do-Hoon dramatically scoring the winning goal in stoppage time.
the key to beating a team like brazil is cutting down on the mistakes. as long as we dont turn the ball over for them to counter fast and dont do defensive/keeper errors we will be alright cause then they must come up with the brilliance themselves. honduras couldve beaten brazil but had silly errors and same with egypt. it will be a good match
와싯's been on fire with his webtoons these months. Better than 익뚜 or 샤다라빠 these days, and though not as educational, funnier than 칼카나마's.
I predict 2-1 Korea in extra time. Brazil scores early in the second half, then Park Chu-Young heads in a Kim Bo-Kyung cross in stoppage time to equalize. And then Ki Sung-Yueng scores a long range goal to win it in extra time.
so epic. btw, no one mentioned our MF, park jong woo, he was solid today and actually performed very well in my opinion. what do you guys think? also, it's awful that kim chang soo is out, i really liked watching him play the past 3 matches, he had great skill and defending and pace...
