    박종우는 7일 새벽(이하 한국시간) 영국 맨체스터 그래머 스쿨 훈련장에서 열린 홍명보팀의 비공개 전술훈련 직후 취재진과 만난 자리에서 "영국 잔디는 한국에 비해 길고 푹푹 빠지는 느낌이라 금속으로 된 스터드가 필요하다"면서 "각자 한국에서 가져온 금속 스터드를 장착해 경기에 신고 뛴다. 발목이 조금 아프지만 참고 있다"고 소개했다.

    땅이 단단하고 잔디를 짧게 깎아 관리하는 한국과 달리 유럽 지역은 흙이 무르다. 특히나 영국은 비가 자주 내리는 환경이라 진흙 비슷한 느낌을 낸다. 상대적으로 잔디는 길게 깎는다. 한국인 최초로 프리미어리그 무대를 밟은 바 있는 박지성(31·퀸즈파크레인저스) 또한 과거 언론과의 인터뷰에서 "처음 맨체스터 유나이티트에 입단했을 때 푹푹 빠지는 잔디 때문에 어려움을 겪었다. 네덜란드 리그에 비해 체력 소모가 훨씬 심했다"고 털어놓은 바 있다.

    박종우를 비롯한 홍명보팀 멤버들은 한국에서 쓰던 것과 비교해 길이가 다소 길고 금속성 소재로 된 스터드를 별도로 챙겨왔다. 근래 출시된 선수용 축구화들은 그라운드 환경에 맞춰 스터드를 교체할 수 있다. 박종우가 직접 공개한 자신의 축구화에는 발 앞 부분에 4개, 뒷 부분에 2개 등 총 6개의 금속 스터드가 달려 있었다.

    홍명보팀에서 프리킥 전문 키커로 점차 비중을 높여 가고 있는 박종우는 "영국으로 건너온 이후에는 전술적인 부분에 치중하느라 프리킥 연습을 평소만큼 하지 못하고 있다"면서도 "꾸준한 이미지 트레이닝을 통해 슈팅 감각을 유지하려 노력 중"이라 밝혔다.

    gotta loosen up the legs a bit im guessing. doesnt look like they did much besides jogging and stretching. probably watched lots of film though

    Seemed alright after the full 90, they were going in for hard tackles during ET which I hope they'll fix. All in all pretty good.

    Man its obvious the refs give the benefit to the favourites this whole tournament. Canada just got screwed against the American women. We need to be extra careful against Brazil. Most likely they will get a penalty for nothing.

    you would think it would be kinda hot but that explains why in training everyone wears long sleeves huh? games at night so should be cool but the high for the day is a pathetic 68F

    For anyone interested....the broadcasting has changed for Korea. SBS will not show the match while both MBC and KBS will broadcast the match live.
    What a bummer :(
