PSV in 2005, that was probably Lyon's greatest team IMO

the only positive from my point of view is that Platini is vindicated against all the haters who said these smaller leagues shouldnt be included in the CL.

the season i was rooting for lyon this is what happen. today i saw fear in their eyes... they looked scared and unsure of themselves.... all the penalties were luck with exception of the 1st one...

I think he doesnt like lots of foreign players on teams and Apoel's roster has a lot of Portuguese and Brazilians, its not a predominately Cypriot roster. There's no doubt they wouldnt be doing this well without all those Portuguese and Brazilians invading Cyprus.

so I guess he doesn't like benfica as well? cyprus is a minnow league, they have to bring in outsiders
heck look at portugal, scotland, belgium etc. the big teams are made up largely of foreigners because those countries are small and just can't pump out talent like the bigger countries
my city alone has more pop. than all of cyprus, and my county is almost as big

I'm still stunned. I did not see this coming at all. I thought for sure Lyon would qualify, didn't think that even they could be so incompetent.

this was an easy cake.. no disrespect to to the apoel but come on. compared to what we have gone through. how could we lose...

time for a foreign manager. if lyon thinks their big they got think big too. they cant just hire inexperienced french coaches

The right time was when they hired Puel instead. For some reason they went with a guy (Puel) who over achieved with a small club. Big mistake it turned it to be.
