Hi all, As I know that our home kit is gona be the same for 2012 season, I'm wondering when our new away kit is going to be released. It seems to me teams around the leagues already released their new jerseys. So when is our turn? Or are we even going to be getting one at all? Personally I think our home and away 2011 kit were spectacular.
Primary and Secondary kits ("home" and "away" to use your terminology =) are released on two year cycles in MLS (with some exceptions here and there). For us, that means the only new kit we might see would be a 3rd kit (which I believe is required by CONCACAF Champions League (which we are going to qualify for this year, I hope!)). Since a 3rd would make more money for the club, we'll probably see one. And I hope it's brown and sky.
I see. I was thinking that our secondary kit (navy blue) will become 3rd kit while they release the new kits. I would definitely hope we win the Voyageurs Cup this year and have more exposures for the Caps. I would hope we get some neon color adidas kit lol. Like what Chelsea has for they away. Kinda cool.
Navy will always be our secondary kit (or possibly primary), never our 3rd. But, yeah, if they do a third, I hope it is very different. Neon is one way to do it; another way would be a halves shirt, or one of our colour plus a non-official colour. (That's why I like sky (one of our colours) and brown. But a royal blue and yellow kit (BC Flag) could be cool too. Inter wore one years ago and I really liked it.)
Leaks coming out (on the Southsiders board) that the third kit will be "Mustang Brown" and "Smoke Blue". Mustang brown is very, very dark - almost looks black in the right light. Smoke blue is a light blue, but more grey then say a sky blue is. So, it looks like wish granted for you, Whiteisthecolour.
