Anyway, beside one player, strikers don't score so much with Standard.. so Nagai and Ono can be a factor of change.

Ono doesn't score so much either, though...

Ono was not a striker in 2012 though

But his main objective for the season was to score goals. (He was played as a striker in several games, actually)

I wonder what makes you think so...
:whistling:

expect also A LOT of pressure on them by the fans. Some of them are just dumb racist, but some others are just perplexed - and I can't blame them too much (while they shouldn't be on Nagai, to be fair).

Ono press conference happened half an hour ago.
    Some bits :
(I heard that the supporters of Standard are very passionate. I'll give my best for them)-> hahaha, "passionate", he says?

-> yes ok always the same thing (my dream was to play in Europe so I'm happy to be here)

-> (in all the major leagues there are japanese players, therefore it's a market that can't be ignored) -> sure, next time you could've picked someone who was more ready though

Funnily enough, an article I read on the weekend painted Ono as the big signing, Nagai as the 'omake'. Ono's transfer fee was double that of Nagai's, it said.

So he is more like a attack midfielder? His skill look good, his style a bit look like Honda, of cause he still not the level of Honda, but he only 20 yo, still can keep improve.

He's definitely an AM, not striker. Unless his finishing dramatically improves.

Standard is also buying a young prospect like Castillo, from Ecuador: 3.5 mln. of euros. It's like they suddenly wake up.

Standard Liege is a club with ambitions they even suggested that Belgium + French league would combine. (lol)

What's so funny about that? They are very passionate.

They did not. They have a rich but excentric chairman who threatened to leave the Belgian competition and go play in the French league instead. But the Ligue 1 soon afterwards set him straight.

    Standar's coach:

If Ono is there and Nagai isn't, I hope it's just for technical reasons...
edit: random dude indeed claims that Nagai arrives only tomorrow or something like that.

Take those words for what it's worth as it could just be circumstantial ones, anyway...
    Standard coach:
"He will start from the bench. Ono showed me good things this week. What I liked, is that he "wants". He has good speed and technique. I decided to include him in the 18-men selection. "
