Seems to be confirmed, but getting working permit appears to take too long to be finished in time for next match this weekend. Edit: Club is last among 12 clubs. I guess the only way is up in many ways...
Last 5 seasons this team has been finishing around 4th place this season is a disaster season compareable to chelseas But like chelsea this does not happen often. Eiji is better than all the goalkeepers dundee had in the last 5 seasons. So now i think this team will be comepting for top 2 next season. Eiji will save them more poitns than the previous goalkeepers in the last 5 seasons.
Its good he left Standard Liege, because they are 1 spot away from relegation in the league, they are doing really poorly this season. But so is dundee
Well, any upturn in their fortunes will be entirely due to Eiji then.. But.. Dundee.. no offence to any Scots here, but, to paraphrase WC Fields, I spent a month there one weekend. I hope he can have plenty of instant ramen shipped in.
None taken........ha. I'm a lifelong fan of Dundee UNITED! (Dundee are our rivals) incredible and slightly bizarre signing for us but don't be fooled we are a solid club going through a tough period after selling our best players to Celtic, sporting lisbon, hull and Derby. It's a rebuilding job now and the new manager is making a good start to that. Always been a big fan of Eiji and he hates losing which is a quality we need. We have very talented youngsters with tonnes of potential but unfortunately there has been a lot of pressure for them to carry the team since our best guys have left. I'll gladly keep you all updated with his progress but sadly I assume this will only be a quick stepping stone to get him some game time before he moves on.
Yea still waiting on the permit coming through but boy do we need him for tomorrow so hopefully it comes this afternoon. Will let you know
from the past, what I have seen with these work permits is that the player always misses 1 match because of delays getting the work permit. So I am guessing he will miss the next match.
Yea was thinking that although he missed the midweek cup game. Looks like he'll miss today too.......which has me terrified. It can take up to two weeks apparently. If it was Celtic requiring a permit it would have been done days ago.
I wish I had more news.......incredibly frustrating. Like I say, had this been Celktic or Rangers needing a permit it would have been done instantly. Still waiting
Yup, my point stands though. Our governing body will bend over backwards for them and Celtic . always been the case
Now being told it could take up to two months but a legal team are trying to push it through for this weekend. This is ridiculous
Kawashima wrote on this blog that his UK visa is finally being processed, allowing him to sign an official contract with Dundee United soon. His wife also gave birth on Thursday.
Last game played with Japan: 16th June. Last game played with a club: 11st December. 2014! FFS. I hope he'll just recover.
Finally! His permit has been granted and he'll be coming back from Japan next week in time for Saturdays game.
Kawashima is flying to sign for Dundee this week. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb...e-right-character-for-dundee-united-1-3975655 The club is at the rock bottom of the league, he should become a starter straight away. Also, it's brave of him to choose to go to live in Dundee. It's a sh*thole.
Yes it's brave of him. I wish him good luck and this shows us his passion. But I really still can't figure out how it could come to this? He had ca 85 games total including play off games for Standard and 46 clean sheets. That is pretty amazing. But he sucked a couple of games and Thuram got the chance and won 3 clean sheets at once, and it was all over.
