He's sending a message to Pochettino.

Pochettino has today said that due to Mayuka leaving on transfer deadline day, they preferred to replace him with a player already at the club rather than replace him with a new player. He said that Lee's professionalism during the summer made them feel that he deserved a chance in the squad, so they chose him.

In other words they didn't pick him for his quality, skill, and goalscoring ability.

    ....so he should leave.

What do you mean? He simply couldn't find a new club before the deadline, and they happened to have a hole in the roster at striker. Depending on how you look at it, the fact that he was chosen for a first team slot over Billy Sharp means that 1) Pochettino rates Lee higher, 2) Sharp has more interest from Championship clubs (several outstanding loan offers) and thus Soton can save more money by keeping Lee around instead, or 3) a combination of the two.
In any case the depth chart is shallow enough that Lee should get some playing time here and there. Could be worse.

It's better than not playing, I guess. Now it's up to him to score at least with the U21

Zac will call him as a Kakitani sub after the contemporary injuries or Maeda/Havenaar/Osako/Kudo while Saito will have a flu.

He will score in the extratime of the final FIFA WC Brazil 2014 with a unstoppable shoot after a Nagatomo long pass.

    That's for sure.

He's looking quite sharp. Lasted in to the 2nd half.

He should really grab chances like these, but of course he does not.

Chun apparently had a hockey assist on the first goal off a long ball from Maya, and created (but failed to convert) 2 chances at goal in the first half.

He sounds pretty happy with his outing though:
