Kato, does it make any difference if Sydney finishes 1st or 2nd? I don't know how the final works. Maybe it's played in the home stadium of the league winner?

just checked so they "won" the league right? They will jump to the semifinals it seems, on th 12th of april. Any news if he will be back in time?

Yeah, all Australian sports always prefer a 'finals series' rather than crowning the champions after the home/away games, it's kinda contraversial amongst football supporters here.

Ono's injury is still not looking good, they're doing everything they can... He looked in good spirits though last night, one of the most popular guys in the team.

Wanderers in the ACL next year. The lack of squad depth in Oz makes both competitions difficult to juggle but it's possible Ono could play a match in Japan.

Might be fit for this week's semi-final against Brisbane, they earned a week off after they finished first in the table.

Also recently rated Tony Popovic as the best coach he's played with, he actually played a few seasons with Sanfrecce.

Western Sydney Wanderers though to grand final after beating Brisbane Roar 2-0

IT'S the greatest fairytale of them all, and the final chapter is now ready to be written.

The Wanderers are into the grand final next Sunday at Allianz Stadium, inspired by another illustration of the brilliance of Shinji Ono in a 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar in last night's semi-final.
Ono's second-half majesty followed a collector's item goal from Dino Kresinger, and the Roar in the end couldn't match the sheer determination of their hosts.
Another extraordinary night at Parramatta Stadium was only soured by the late and needless dismissal of Youssouf Hersi for two mindless tackles.
The winger, so central to the side's success, will sit out the grand final and he will be missed - but even so, few would bet against this side completing what is starting to look like a preordained mission.

Despite Popovic's assertion that all his key players were fit, Aaron Mooy's knee had proved too troublesome to risk, meaning another start for 19-year-old Yianni Perkatis - the youth-team graduate making only his second A-League appearance.
But even with Ono and Jerome Polenz back in the side neither the Wanderers nor their visitors could settle at first, not helped by the ragged pitch.
Finally after a quarter of an hour there was a shot in semi-anger, Kresinger testing Michael Theo with a low skimming effort. As it turned out, it was just a sighter for Kresinger.
The Croatian striker has achieved cult acclaim in inverse proportion to his goal tally, which before last night stood at a single strike - in the 16th minute he doubled that figure, and the ground shook.

Hersi was the initial catalyst, winning the ball in midfield and spreading it wide to Mark Bridge on the left. Bridge toyed with Luke Brattan before driving in a low cross that Kresinger deftly flicked home with his instep.
Brisbane tried to play their way back into the contest, but the geometry of their midfield angles was a fraction out far too often.
Instead Western Sydney increased the pressure as half-time approached - a fabulous interchange between Hersi and Ono allowed Bridge to get away a shot that Theo tipped aside.
Perkatis was relieved to get away with a clumsy tackle on Brattan that on second viewing made a persuasive case for a penalty, but the half-time lead for the home side was deserved.
Two minutes after the restart the lead should have been doubled when Hersi's waspish low cross found Kresinger unmarked in front of goal, but he couldn't finish.
The heat of the game began to creep up, as wild tackles from first Michael Beauchamp and then James Donachie earned yellow cards. Brisbane began to mount waves down the right, without finding a telling final cross.

The Wanderers went for the kill, with Theo producing a remarkable double save on 55 minutes to repel shots from Bridge and Poljak in quick succession.
Back came Brisbane and Lustica released Nicholls down the left, for a cutback that Halloran should have done better with than sidefoot straight at Covic.
Then Berisha bullied his way through the Wanderers defence but was stopped by desperate defending. A run from Hersi allowed Bridge to shoot a fraction wide, as the punches rolled both ways.
Finally, with 71 minutes played, another breakthrough was made, and in the manner of genius. Ono brought down a bouncing long ball with ease and turned with menace towards the Brisbane goal, before unleashing a dipping strike over Theo and into the top corner from 20m.
The keeper barely flinched, but all around him the 19,369 crowd leapt in raptures. Their mood was tarnished when Hersi's second yellow card of the night saw him dismissed.

Ohhhh that clip gave me goosebumps. What a crowd and the way his teammates celebrated with him was special. He obviously means a lot to the team and league, what a season and what a goal! Australian A-League MVP!!!
