Ok, so we didn't get the clean sheet in the FA cup, but are moving on anyway....

Next up in the PL are Swansea at Goodison....

that was a ridiculously depressing game today. we never showed up... i don't count a five min "ok" session in the 2nd half as showing up.

what suckage. we need to do way better than this if we want to stay near the top of the league.

Next up is the FA cup 4th (?) round. here's hoping we actually play that game instead of "meh"ing it in.

    coyb!

Everton up 1-0 on a Baines goal against WBA.

And now 2-0 at the half as Baines converts a PK earned by Anichebe

Game feels slow, Blues are (relatively) dominating possession, no real threat or even feel of a threat from WBA. Here's hoping it continues in the 2nd half.

defo not the most interesting game ever but it's good to win (although wtf happened to the team - mainly howard and johnny h's poor first touch on their goal???)

Still in 5th, and hopefully going strong! COYB!

the doomsdayers are crying our season is over. I know we haven't been doing so well lately, and our thin squad has been stretched even thinner, but losing 2-0 to united isn't a meltdown.

Seriously. did anyone really believe 100% that we would win? I was hoping for a draw but even that was a far out hope for me... Man U, in top form, at OT....

    but "we're doooooomed! I! Tell! You!!!!!!!!!" :S

I can't deny I'm worried though. We normally start off terribly, plagued by injuries and get them all back in January/February ready for the run in to the end. This year, we started strong and have got injuries. But, gibbo is back, mirallas is back. just hope we don't lose any more to injury and we get hibbo and coleman back soon too... It will def be an interesting 2nd half to the season!

Anything less than a win on Saturday will be unacceptable. We aren't in the greatest of form in the league and if we can't beat Reading at home then questions need to be asked. We should use the cup run to build momentum and the month of March is going to be such a key month. Four home games, you can't ask for more than that, I am not expecting four wins but I am expecting us to do well and compete at the very least. Not concede late goals and go to sleep once we are one goal up.

Everton has now beaten both Manchester clubs this season and has a 6-1-1 record in their last 8 games against Manchester City.

We got a gift today, and we'll take it! That being said, the Blues impressed with me with how hard they worked throughout the match. They "deserved" the win, even if it came via a weak call from the ref on Fella's handling in the box.

Plus, Liverpool is down at the moment (28th min), so it's shaping up to be a good day....

A fantastic win for us, the celebrations were great at the end. I thought when Pienaar was sent off that we had blown it but we worked hard and showed a real togetherness and desire to win that was lacking last week. Coleman and Anichebe put in brilliant performances, you can't fault any of the players really, except Pienaar because his challenges were stupid and needless. I thought Mucha played well in the absence of Tim Howard and that is a massive positive for us. International break now so we have to wait two weeks for our next game.

15th min - level at 1 after Jags puts in an underpowered but well-directed header!

My comp screen is busted, new one arrives wed. And phone is acting badly but did we draw 2-2? Consideting their form and us not having pienar, that sounds like a decent on the road result

I would have taken a point before the game but to concede so late and have numerous chances to put the game to bed I am disappointed. Happy with the overall performance and we showed good chracter after being 1-0 down so early. We've got to win our remaining home games otherwise we have no chance of finishing any higher than sixth. It really is ours to lose now.

a good win today. just gotta keep putting games in the win column and hope the teams above us falter.

I have been having a terrible time getting up for games out here on the west coast. ah well. always nice to wake up to a 2-0 win :)
