Maybe I'm doing this too early, but I am REALLY excited about what we are doing. If the headlines are true, we just signed Ade for 5 Mil which is NOTHING! That means we've gotten Sig, Ade, and Vertonghen cost a total of £24 million! Which isn't bad once you think of all the money Liverpool has wasted on 1 disappoint player. (Downing, Carrol, Torres, etc)

I'm sad we are selling Pinnear because I really do think he is one of the most underrated players in the league, but very happy about our new (and potentially new) additions. Bale resigned, Walker resigned, and I think we have a good future mates!

Let's go for 3rd this year though, you know...just in case.

Expectations? o_O Silly Spurs fan :ROFLMAO:... That is the first mistake is to have ANY expectations because they will most certainly be crushed.  That said this has become an interesting summer with new coach, signings etc. Then again Spurs never disappoint in that realm with all the crazy rumors. I'll wait for the actual product to hit the field in August, then MAYBE we can start talking about expectations. :cautious: Until then expect NOTHING. :D

The destruction of all our enemies and the lifting of the Premier League trophy on the last day of the season.

Also Friedel will become an international sex symbol.

I expect Modric to leave. I expect the team to take some time adjusting to new tactics and training. I expect there to be a rash of injuries. I expect to love every minute of it.

    I expect:
    • the Modric saga to drag out until the last few days of the transfer window.
    • that we will not have an adequate replacement for Modric at the close of the transfer window
    • AVB to get Parker to try to play in more of a Modric type role
    • that we will make a bad purchase in January in hopes of filling the Modric hole

i expect to be ruing the fact that we fooked off our best set up in over a generation for no real reason -harry didn't get the england job, you know.

i know it was the right and responsible thing for levy to put a plan into operation when we all thought harry would be off to the england job come the summer. but when that didn't happen, i would've preferred that he considered the status quo (with it's prospects for even more) a better option than the 'gamble' that is the AVB plan ... and acted accordingly.

levy's rolling the dice, here; and fair play, he's doing so because he feels that this new plan will yield even greater results than what we've seen the last few years. so you can't question his commitment and ambition. but my 'expectation' is that it will not.

Wait so you're saying he isn't already? We should start a campaign to get him featured in Kickette.

    In order...
I expect to spend way too much on new kit in Baltimore.
I expect we will get another striker at the end of the window.
I expect a media backlash against AVB, October at the latest.
I expect us to get further than ever in Europa League, but no better in the league.

I'm not ready to describe expectations, because the offseason is far from over.

But, I do want to state my desires. I want Spurs to fight for winning all competitions we are in. Every single one. Champions are born from winning trophies. While winning the league title is the ultimate goal for the coming season, there is no reason to not seek out other competitions to begin learning how to be a champion. Win Europa League, win the League Cup, win the FA Cup... winning any one of those is a worthy championship. It is not the one we all want, but by winning those, the mentality of how to go further, of playing with calm and swagger is learned. So, let's not be coy about the other competitions. Go for all and let the chips fall where they may. There is no shame there. By prioritizing and tossing to the side 'lesser competitions' the team never learns how to be a champion. Face adversity by staring it in the eye, not by picking which adversity to face.
