I think the biggest thing we need to worry about this game will be not committing silly fouls and getting yellow/red cards... our players will know that this is THE final game, against the arch rivals Japan, and that there is nowhere to run to now. I'm sure our players will all be up for the occasion, but I'm worried that all this pressure may result in some of the guys losing there head, resulting in a silly yellow or a red. And by looking at Japan's previous matches and how they drew quite a bit of red cards (not implying there is anything suspicious at work here of course... probably has more to do with their play style more than anything...), I think the most vital thing for this match will be our players keeping their cool throughout this match, especially since good refereeing in this tournament is certainly not something we can reliably depend on. As long as they can do that, I'm sure we will have a great chance to win.
Any sign of racism will warrant a direct red card. I understand many are emotional after the loss, but please keep your cool otherwise moderators will close the thread.
Our haniljeon record in these Olympics is excellent. I expect no less from our little brothers on Friday.
Just curious, is anyone aware of the salary of our players? I know that Park Ji Sung made around 10 mill annually during his prime time. What about players like Ki Sung Yong and Koo Ja Cheol? Do they make anywhere near 7 digits annually? Thanks in advance.
We have far more motivation to win this one compared to Japan, but conversely, it also means that there is more pressure on us... a truly double edged sword. I can only hope that it works to our favour come Friday.
Thanks for the quick reply. I was genuinely curious about this and couldn't find it online. There's a lot of info about european players, but not much about Asian footballers. 500k hunh? That's much lower than what I expected. His a fantastic player, he at least deserves two mill. Oh! and our women's volleyball team beat italy! Incredible! Our female athletes are really raking in the medals.
are you having trouble reading the thread title? all these players make more than youll ever make. now can you stop with your endless stream of bullshi!t? and the ignore list just expands and expands.
Good luck to the boys, they deserve their medal. I'm not going to watch this, no thank you. Sure the victory would be sweet, but in case of defeat, I don't wanna be here. It's a decision I made. Plus, I'm kinda tired of these games. I remember few years ago there was 3 of those games in the span of 2-3 months, kinda boring to say the less ... Tired of seeing Japan grow it's ego on Korea with these games. Come on guys, my heart is with you. Get these medals ! Show Japan who's the pride of Asia.
I saw his face after the shootout with GB. Pure joy. Of course he might want his own nation to win but he is first and foremost a professional. I have faith in his character.
I was kinda worried about this. We should keep a close eye on him and follow him wherever he goes. semi serious
I think you should take it down a tone, he's probably young and just wondering. Some peoples need to get proper education around here, no joke.
all i know is that if i were a trainer on the japanese team, first call im making after watching the korea-brazil match is to hmb. more patriot than professional here. lets hope seigo ain't a bastard like me.
