Thus endeth the 2011 edition of the Open Cup. Seattle Sounders are once again in the CCL, the first qualifier for 2011-12. In mere days, qualifying for the 2012 Open Cup will begin (if it hasn't already). The 99th edition, if I remember right. Seattle has an historic run going. The question now is, can anyone else step up to take it from them? Assuming the NASL is certified, they should be back. Looking forward to next year.

No. But according to Wiki, there was a Seattle team that made lost in the final in '87. The original source for the Wiki info is theCup.us. Besides, if the MLS Sounder FC isn't counting their D2 history, there's no way they'd count the ASL history.
