I think that the Toronto game in DC showed a lot of what needs to be done. Contain DeRo (or kick in his knee...), and don't ever sign Andy Iro to the Whitecaps.

    Rochat injured, will not travel.
DeMerit is probable for the match.

Oooooo...don't even joke about that. =/

A healthy DeMerit may be a 3-win difference for the rest of the season. It seems like some of our losses were due to that one critical gaffe by the back 4, and I think DeMerit makes a difference in some of those situations organzing the back and being the physical presence that he is.

Yes, he certainly would have given us an extra couple of wins. The guy is fantastic when healthy. But over 30 and groin issues sometimes are hard to completely over come.

I am hoping he gets in a good 60 minutes tomorrow and leaves without any aggravation of his injuries.

It's frustrating to see Soehn starting players who aren't match fit. This is a game worth points, not a rehab session. It doesn't make sense to start Demerit and Thorrington because it just winds up putting other players out of position.

If you know Demerit isn't going to finish the game, then why not have Janicki on the bench??? It just messes everything up having to play Harvey in the middle and Brovsky on D. Why is Duckett(a natural defender) on the bench if you're just going to put Brovsky at the back anyway???

The start of a LEAGUE game is not the time to get players minutes. Give them more minutes in reserve league or put them in when a game is out of reach. The game should be played to win, not to be meant as a conditioning drill.

I think Tommy forgot which team he is playing for. What a bunch of stupid subs by his part.

I feel sorry for you guys -- you are getting the "full Monty" experience of Tom Soehn. Nice guy. Clueless coach tactically. Awful evaluator of talent and a coach who makes completely inexplicable substitutions. Next year should be better, because Rennie has done a good job in Carolina. Problem for you is that Soehn will still be in the FO and "judging" the talent given to Rennie.

Announcing next seasons coach this year seems like it gives Soehn a free pass, and writes off the rest of the season. Our team lacks motivation and leadership, starting with the coach. Absolutely rubbish to watch yesterday, same collapse as against LA. This is going to be a long end to the season if this is any indication on how they're going to get up for the game.

We had a chance for our first winning streak, first road win, and came off a decent win only to fall flat, and apparently not care.

I think the ownership group needs to remind people of what our expectations were this year, and not write it off as "our first year" we should have been able to find the talent and put together a team that performs much better than they did yesterday. No one, coach, manager, president, player should think they're safe for next season.

This is the part that worries me. No matter how good Rennie is, if he is getting fed an average or below average squad we will not make much progress other than a few extra wins.
