It's our next tournament, that's the one that it's time to get ready for now. When do we find out where it's going to be held?

    Mexico?
    US?
Co-host with Azteca getting the final to assure Mexico gets the Confederations Cup bid?
Too early to post this without allowing ample time for people to continue bitching after crashing out of the World Cup?

    99.9% USA

Why would they put it anywhere else and risk money? There is no money to be made in Mexico.

What I could see them doing is hosting it entirely in the US and then putting just the final in Mexico to make it "fair".

I wouldn't be the first time Mexico has co-hosted.

they've never had the tournament in one country only to have the final in another.

    Fair? lol...only in CONCACAF

I think the 09 Gold Cup Final at Giants Stadium was like 95% Mexican attendance.

Hopefully the US plays in AZ! PLEASE! THE Phoenix and Tucson Outlaws are asking for a US friendly or game. At least the MLS plays all there scrimmages before the season in Phoenix though.

I would love for espn to get the broadcast rights to the gold cup. FSC has been really dreadful with how they broadcast this tournament.

This is all contingent on the singularity occurring in the next 12 months

Bah, just switch coordinate systems and that proves to be no singularity at all. ;)

Indeed. Maybe ESPN could get just the US matches...

Though I assume FSC wouldn't stand for that. Rights for the tournament are probably worthless without US matches.

FSC already has the US rights to it. Maybe ESPN will have the interest in the future.

Hasn't Canada expressed an interest in the past? They host the U-20 World Cup in 2007 (last time the Gold Cup mattered). That would be a nice change of pace and give momentum to the Vancouver/Montreal entries to MLS.

It would be a nice change of pace to play the tournament in Canada, but I would really like to see if there is any attendance spike for US matches in the USA.

It's all about the marketing. ESPN and the USSF need to start advertising for friendlies and the Gold Cup like crazy. Make sure they understand that these matches are the same team they saw in South Africa in 2010.

Yeah, but FSC never advertises. I see ESPN advertisements on every channel in the world, but FSC advertisements are only on the Fox Sports Region of channels.

FSC sucks. Here are my tags for FSC: ass horrible nonsensical over-hyping mls players chris sullivan lackluster commentating bizarrely english-centric team england leading the news on Fox Soccer report over the US national team.

Hate that FSC is one few outlets for us soccer.

will you please shut the fu*ck up about 1070. When ever anyone from AZ says, "hopefully the US will stage a friendly", every fuc*king person has to say krap about 1070. If the MLB All Star Game and weekend in 2011 is going to be taking place in AZ, then why can't a US friendly.
