Seongnam will take on the winner of the Hekari vs al-Wahda playoff match in the quarterfinal taking place on Dec. 11th. If they can advance, they take on Inter Milan next.
Seongnam should beat al-Wahda pretty easily, weren't they the team that lost to Auckland City? I'm surprised that Inter Milan is sending their full squad though. They should be able to win this pretty easily with their reserves lol
Yep, feel free to drop by the FIFA board for Club World Cup discussion. Looking forward to seeing Seongnam on Saturday.
Remember guys, Suwon is playing Sydney FC this wednesday (2/March/2011 Korea time) in the ACL group stage match. It would take me less than an hour to get to the stadium but...i have no money Anyway, it should be a good game.
All to play for...By Johnny Duerden Sasa has a good point here... For more go here http://soccernet.espn.go.com/column...lay-for-in-the-asian-champions-league?cc=3436
In 2 hours and 15 mins time, Jeju United will play Tianjin Teda F.C. in the ACL group stage match. Im quite excited. Remember Tianjin beat Ulsan 4-0 in a warm match before so they wont be a push over. Park Hyun Beom has alot of midfield work to do now that Koo Ja Cheol is gone. Also, Shin Young Rokba... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A special mention for today (it has nothing to do with the upcoming match, and will have no influence) is that today is [제 92주년 3.1운동 기념]. A special day for us Koreans... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BTW, the match will be streamed here: http://ko.justin.tv/gamsa2#/w/916108304/7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come on Jeju United!
I dont know how it would be worded/said in English but, you would know when you see it, it was when all the Korean people held an independence movement [독립운동] against the Imperial Japan, 92 years ago. Yes, Kim Eun Jung should be paired with Shin Young Rok.
Match about to start... and there is seriously no one in the stadium. Sigh, Jeju... On the lineup: Santos will partner Kim Eun Jung up front. Hong Jeong Ho in defence *drools* Kang Su Il and Shin Young Rok on the bench. Acrobatic shot by Kim Eun Jung. I cant believe he missed that.
HT: Jeju 0 - 0 Tianjin It's difficult to say which team were the better team of the half, because both teams were pretty even, but in terms of overall possession and goal chances, Jeju United were better. Tianjin made few chances but those chances were pretty threatening and could have conceeded. On the other hand, Jeju made more chances and will be really disappointed they couldnt score at least one. Santos had the best opportunity; a one-on-one but shot straight into the goalie. The best player so far has to be Hong Jeong Ho. With Cho Kwang Rae watching on, Hong was very crucial to Jeju in defence. It's difficult not to like Hong Jeong Ho. However, this match was very lacking in pace and many players werent in their best of conditions. The wind is quite strong as well. As well, Jeju looks like they are missing Koo Ja Cheol's presence in the middle. Park Hyung Bum did his best but this team is missing Koo's ability to give quick one-two passes and pressure the opposition up high which is what Jeju is reknowned for.
...0-1 Yu Dabao scores for Tianjin. It was a lapse of concentration from the midfield and defence of Jeju. Nice cross and finish from Tianjin. Shin Young Rok coming on.
Shin Young-Rok and Shim Young-Sung... I wonder if those two can pair up and rediscover their magic from the 07 Under 20 World Cup. Great.. I turned it just now and watched injury time of the 2nd half..
FT: Jeju 0 - 1 Tianjin It was definately a fustrating match from Jeju's perspectives. They didnt play badly, in fact they tried to play good football, which i think turned into a weakness into Jeju's play - too much passes, no fluency in attack and confused defence. There were quite few number of chances where Jeju should have scored - Lee Sang Hup had a long range shot well saved by the goalie and hit the crossbar from a FK in the late stages of the match. Shin Young Rok was introduced late but brought good physical presence. Should have played earlier. Tianjin were quite strong, a really physically strong defence consisting of Li Weifeng. They had a nice goal but really, it came from Jeju's mistake and all-over-the place defence. But i still stand by Hong Jeong Ho, who was a provider throughout the match. Overall, its unlucky for Jeju United but certainly far from over. And credit is due where its due, Tianjin had a strong defence and eventually were deserved winners today. Oh and another thing...Koo's absence was sorely felt by Jeju.
Melbourne Victory got bitch slapped by Gamba Osaka 5-1 with Lee Keun-Ho lol and Kim Seung-Yong getting a goal each.
Mmmmm... Lee Yong Rae Anyway, Suwon may be a new looked side this year but they still have alot to worry at the end because the likes of Oh Beom Suk and Yeom Ki Hun are going to army at the end of the season...
I heard he will regroup with the squad next week but will take around a month of rehab. Its a real touching human story for a player coming back after a car accident.
