The Daily Mail claims we are getting Onuoha for £2.75m:

"Hughes expects Nedum Onuoha's move from Manchester City to be finalised after he agreed personal terms after the clubs agreed a £2.75m fee plus add-ons. "

That sounds like very good business, if true. Fingers crossed.

The Taiwo deal looks like a real boost if he is half as good as the hype (that is a big IF, of course). MH called him the best left-back in the world. Sounds too good to be true.

Taiwo at left-back allows Traore to move forward to left midfield, so the line-up becomes Traore, Buzz, Barton, SWP across the middle with Taarabt in front of them and then HH as the target man. That looks like a really exciting formation with speed down both wings and loads of creativity in front of goal.

    Very good business with Onuoha.

According to Wikipedia, Nedum is no dumb dumb either. Apparently he has 10 GCSEs (8 As and 2 Bs) and 3 A Levels (all As).

That is pretty impressive. Especially for someone who could easily have been tempted to bank it all on football and give school a miss.

Talksport, Sky, etc reporting that a Zamora deal is close. Rumored to be around £5mil.

Cisse will play tomorrow at Villa once he gets international clearance. If Zamora signs, he won't be able to (Noon UK time is the deadline for registering to play the next day).

I've seen some rumors that Wigan is after DJ. Would clear some money up, but would we want to pull the trigger on something like that?

"Queens Park Rangers have agreed to sign striker Bobby Zamora from Fulham for a fee in the region of £4m. Zamora is yet to have his medical but personal terms have been agreed and he looks set to be reunited with his former Fulham boss Mark Hughes at QPR."

Hulse made the 25, Ephraim did not.

Full squad: Kenny, Cerny, Murphy; Traore, Hill, Hall, Gabbidon, Taiwo, Onuoha, Young, Ferdinand; Derry, Diakite, Buzsaky, Barton, Smith, Wright-Phillips, Mackie, Taarabt; Campbell, Bothroyd, Helguson, Cisse, Zamora, Hulse.

Hogan Ephraim, Peter Ramage, Patrick Agyemang, Dan Shittu, Bruno Perone, etc. could go on loan.

In our previous 25-man squad, but not on this one:

    Faurlin - injured
    Dyer - injured
    Orr - transfer out
    Connolly - on loan
    Puncheon - loan ended
    Perone - out of favor

    Six Replacements:

    Cisse - transfer in
    Onuoha - transfer in
    Zamora - transfer in
    Diakite - loan/option to buy
    Taiwo - loan
    Hulse - back in favor

It is a shame that Ephraim didn't make it. Probably realistic, but I always liked the way he plays. A great player for the division below but not really big and strong enough for a MH team. I hope he finds a team that can use him. He deserves it and has the talent to e very useful.

Hulse is very much an MH type of player. He is big and physical. I am not very impressed. He has never had anything that could be described as a good game.

Although Hogan Ephraim is not currently in the 25, he has signed a new one-year deal with the club, saying he's confident of being able to get into the 25 next season. He's likely to go out on loan again to get some more games after having gone on loan to Charlton earlier this season.

I have always thought that Ephraim is a poor mans Adel -- likes to dribble and run at players, just not quite as talented as Taarabt. So maybe the extension is insurance against Taarabt moving on over the close season.
